Wow! Especially the N/A is impressive. Don't think I can catch you there – but it will be fun trying!

My tuned car was on about 340bhp, IIRC. May have to see if I can up that if you get much closer, but not sure what more I can do...

Small point: for the stock N/A and VXT, we are supposed to be in arcade mode under "Time trial" , where you run it on the default SM tyres and can't alter anything else. It's just that in the "Free run" setting, no-one can be sure what the car's spec is – not that I am suggesting you are cheating! Very nice driving

Hmmm... I've been really trying with the N/A. Managed to shave a bit off but, even if I could get every braking point and every apex right in one lap, I think I'd be hard-pushed to break 8.10.

I think we'll have to insist on you doing the times in arcade mode time trial! I'm clutching at straws!

will do it in Arcade mode next time will struggle to hit those time again I think. The NA was a near perfect lap made on mistake right at the last corner it gets me every time . The turbo I messed up at the karosel ended up backwards must have been . And the tuned version well i think its possible to go quite a bit faster I just cant seem to keep the bastard on the road it hops about all over the place the corners are not the problem its the straights that mess me up all the time I think if I could adjust the settings properly it would make a hell of a difference but im not that technically minded.

I reckon if you nail the lap in the VXT you can get into the 7.50 bracket will have to spend my four days off trying it now

I would love to see a full video of such time, 8,09 with the NA...not because I don't believe it, but I cannot fathom how could anyone go THAT much faster...17 seconds from my time are an eternity.......

TBH, I think quite a few times are surreal and video evidence would only then allow me to eat humble pie.....

I always save my record times to the memory card and could make a Quicktime movie, but at 8 mins, the files would be too big for my email and I've nowhere to host them myself. But, if it had to be proven, I could burn a CD-Rom or DVD and send it to someone for confirmation.

Personally, I do believe 8.09 is possible if you do absolutely everything perfectly right. I spent ages yesterday chasing my 8.14 ghost. I've never been more than about 1.5 secs up on that time to date though . Normally was already down at the first time stage, often worse at second, and when down again at the third and already two secs or more adrift, I gave up . Was tired and had red wine though. Maybe when I am fresh I can top 8.14, but honestly don't think sub 8.10 is on for me. I just doubt that I can string a perfect lap together – happy to admit it will be pure fluke if I do! I'm still await seeing it done in arcade mode...

I find getting the approach, position, braking point, turn-in point, apex and exit right (or wrong ) on the downhill to and through Aremberg( ?) (where the second time is) is a real decider for me. Can mean going from being a second or so up to a second or two down on my ghost.

When I chase my ghost I am really determined and aggressive, pushing it hard to close the gap (nothing to lose! ). But when I'm up on my ghost, then I try to drive conservatively and not end in the scenery and suddenly I've not got a corner just right and the b@stard is going through me!

It is a fantastic track to test cars though, I have to say. Took the Ruf Boxster for a blast yesterday and was impressed how well you can brake while turning – seems far better than VX/Elise. (The two Ruf 911s have that heavy @rsed feeling that I dislike) Pity Boxsters look so bland and push-me-pull me. The new one is better – perhaps it will look good by the fourth version, then it would be a sensible buy...

Still wouldn't want to risk the harsh reality of the Green Hell though!

same here...I prolly ended 2/3 of my lap-attempts there, usually braking too late and hopelessly spinning in the gravel...

very crucial point "in the flesh" as well, a real a car/bike cemetery spot...

Right well here they are had the ghost running while in arcade mode and Im just a fraction off what I set in GT mode. That last corner just before the start finish line kills me every time in these two runs i consevativly went round that corner and thats where i lost my time to my previous runs. Spent ages trying to perfect it at one stage I reckon i could of got under 8 min in the VXT but on the first long straight you get to there is a jump and the computer tells you to take it in 4th......... Well i ended up backwards in the kitty litter bastard PS2 and that was the end of that lap!!!
