hey, don't forget thate is a proper way to run-in new tyres..... ;)
doing donuts might not be too healthy....

a proper way is described as this:
drive the car for 10 miles at 70% of its top-speed, then drive another 4-5 miles at 90% of its speed....then again 10 miles at 70%, then stop and let cool completely.
the sportier the tyre, the more it applies.

A very reasonable £90 each. When you add VAT and delivery they came to £218 for the pair to my door. This is from Micheldever tyres 01962774437. They will do 040's for £80 Mike. :D

So far they have been very very grippy. It has been fairly nice weather though. I gave it full trot when it was slightly damp and the grip was fantastic. As for the fronts, I don't know if they make Vx sizes! Mike :D

what is the weight code? 91W? are those RE50 the run-flat kind?

Don't think they are run flat, the speed code is up to 170ish mph the same code as the turbo. Wheras the N/A runs a rating of 155mph ish!!!! Not that we will ever get that far. :D

Tyres won't have run flat characteristics generally unless you get to 40 profile or below :)

Just had them out in the wet for the first time, very grippy, traction off the line is strong and lateral grip round the many MK roundabouts is excellent. (I havn't had the balls to kick the back out yet as I was going that fast!!!) Will try some ham fisted throttle use to really test them later! Overall a very good tyre :D Mike

So you've mixed RE040 front and RE050 rear? Are the RE050 the correct compound for the VX, or just off the shelf stuff - sheeat :(

Well I have not tried very hard but once or twice I have tried to flick a quick 180 in the VXT - remember I had a demo for a while - and I cant do them. The car just ploughs straight ahead. Feels terrible. TOO MUCH traction.

Even tried it on a lose is surface with no success. Can't bring myself to experiment....
