Anyone got any tips? If your insurance does not specifically exclude it, are you still covered? Is it technically a toll road? Is it a grey area? Is it best to get additional insurance? If so, what?
Please help! I'm on a fact finding mission!

its classed as a "public road" or at least i'm told the police seem to see it that way over there.
most Ins.Co. are getting wise and closing the loop holes in the T&C's and putting exclusions on "no limit" toll roads
its a grey area bu if you call your Ins.Co. and ask specifically you know the answer is NO, read your T&C's and see if it says its excluded, if not they cannot 'not' cover you i guess

Yeah, techincally it is a toll road but as nakajima said, some insurance companies are specifically excluding it from their policies.
Elephant are OK. If you're not covered and don't feel comfortable driving the ring uninsured, try emailing george at
gwatson@eggerlawson.co.uk
for a quote.
They're a competition car insurance company (race cars, rally cars etc) and will do track day cover. I've never used em so can't comment on their service. i was quoted about 250/day for ring cover before i discovered my own insurance covered me.

The ring is a '' Deristricted Toll Road'' so i have been told.
Most large insurance companys say for example.........
Your insurance does not cover:
Track days
4x4 off road events
Racing, Competitions
De-Ristricted Toll Roads
Driving With Your Eyes Closed Etc etc blah blah blah!!!
