PVD are putting together a group buy deal for VX220.org.uk members. The Viper retails at £250, but I can offer these at £200 with free delivery! The 2.2 kit is available from stock, the VXT kit is approx 2 weeks away. For a review of the Turbo kit, search for Kirk's thread. For a review of the 2.2 kit, speak to me. I've got one and it's great :) The only requirement is that I get 5 orders, but this can be mixed between the 2 kits. I've got 2 yes's at the moment, so 3 more, and it's go! drop me an email to pete@pvd.ltd.uk if you want to register interest, or if you have any questions. Pete PVD Ltd www.vx220tuning.co.uk

Even better, this way you get your filter ready for when your motor turns up :)

We don't have a BHP figure unfortunately, as the car hasn't been rolling roaded. Power gains with a Viper on cars we have rolling roaded have been anywhere between 5 and 10%. There is a fair bit more induction noise, but it's more subtle than with a standard open cone.

Fitting takes approx 2 hours. The kits will come with full instructions.

Power gains with a Viper on cars we have rolling roaded have been anywhere between 5 and 10%.

I'd doubt that level but 5-10bhp would be more likely IMO, which still isn't bad.

I'd be even more cautious....on a remapped turbo it might help squeeze more horses, but on a N/A...think about great sound, but forget about any power gain, unless work on the injectors, exhaust and mapping are performed.

It's worth mentioning that some developers think that the Viper is limited to 150bhp. Over this threshold you need something like the ITG Maxogen. Suspiciously, Pipercross have developed a larger capacity filter for higher bhp applications. I think it's called the Vector (but unfortunately it's too big for the VX engine bay :( ). So looking at the evidence, if I’m going to spend £200+ on a Viper I want to be shown some before and after comparison figures. The marketing guy at Pipercoss suggested that if someone from this site tested the Viper and published the finding he'd give us a free induction kit to giveaway in a completion. <_< Just an idea.

Marco - if you give me your email address I'll send you the PDF of fitting instructions. And Streetboy - Pipercross offer the Evo - which is really for motorsport use, and won't fit in the engine bay. The Viper is certainly capable of a lot more than 150bhp - it's been fitted on many 200+ bhp cars with good results - the latest ones I saw were on a new Scoob, where it gained both bhp and torque. Most kits on the Scoob lose torque.

Well we've got the AMD rolling road day on the 2nd, Bicester isn't far away from PiperX so I'm expecting at least one fitted car to be there. Aren't we talking about the VXT anyway, have they done one for the NA?

a test like this would offer a meaning if you do a pre-mod/post-post-mod run, with the same temp/humidity, hence w/in an hour time or so from the first reading...

Just being ignorant. I know the air is less dense when it is more humid despite what you might think, but I thought an ICE would provide more power on a damp day?

it a matter of higher temperatures, air expands more and oxygen ratio diminish....
