Im wondering if anyone has any specifications on these engines and what sort of power they can take, is it worth considering when they c20let is still a good cheep engine? Were can i buy one from? I can only assume i would need to buy new from vaux or hope to buy one from a smashed car, but how likely am i to getting one and what sort of money would they go for? Has anyone got any digital data they could email me on these engines and there engine mount locations and what have you? Im seriously considering the new let over the old but i could do with knowing more about them first and then i really want a SC 2.2, i just don't know anything about the engines. If you could help with suggestions, links to sites, or some sort of spec that would be great. Also, has anyone done a supercharger conversion on a z22se? I have only found Courtenay sport who do such a conversion, and they are charging a fortune for it, is it really worth it? Or is it best to stick to turbo power? Does anyone know were to source one of these engines and a supercharger? Would the supercharger work of the old ecu, as these now come with flash roms? Also, how easy are these new flash rom ecu's to chip, and is it possible to do it yourself? I've heard that you can flash the new ecu's so no need to open them up. One more... ... What restrictions are no these new engines? as in are they restricted so as to pass new laws and how easy would it be to remove them? Im sorry for all the questions, but i don't know anything about the new line up of Vauxhall units and im trying to figure out what route is going to be best for my £, but im sure the c20let is still the cheapest option. best bet for supercharging is Hitec at courteney. keep an eye on the "supercharging" thread in progress... make a search for delta, supercharger, Hitec, remap, pre-kat removal......you will find LOADS of infos. 2.2 can be flashed, regal, amd and courtenay do that. search or go to their site.

The ZLET is an old design cast iron lump engine whereas the Z22SE is a modern alu block.

SAAB has made a turbo version called the LM850 which they stick in SAAB 9-3s (same block as the Z22SE). If you were going to start out with an engine, i would go for that one since its already boosted + very very strong, whereas the Z22SE won't take much boost without upgrading. Buy one from a breakers...
