if you wanna make a big big difference to how the vx handles give these guys a call or mail:
http://www.scaredstifff.co.uk/
scaredstiff@btinternet.com
01327 878425
they are the most friendly people i have spoken to regarding car set up( and the most honest!)
i took the car up there and they made gallons of tea while they set it up and gave loads of advice all for the princely sum of about £100.
the difference is nothing short of amazing, you can lift off mid corner and it will tighten the line not just snap into uncatchable oversteer and it is much more stable at high speed(110+)
i almost think i can drive a bit now :D
cheers
d

Sounds superb... Maybe when the nitron kit comes out, these guys will be the ones to set it up right.

DD, Thanks for the recommendation - Just given Steve a bell and he is going to try and fit the car in soon. Have track day on the 26th so would like to have it checked. Ever since the "Minor Gav" the car has not quite felt quite the same. The mechanic at the garage assures me all is in spec but I am 'convinced' all is not just right. Got to be a one'er just to say yea or nay. Stumpy cheers

Steve is a really good guy, and he also knows Nitron stuff very well (he's mates with Guy @ Nitron). He'd be ideal to setup the Nitron kit. B)

I'm a little confused as to what he did? Is this a GEO check and set up?

DD, do you have any susspension or wheel / tyre mods. Or are you completely standard on that front? If you are standard I might be up there sooner than I think!

Vex, Car booked in for next Friday, if you can get the time off why not meet me there? We could have a chat with Paul and Steve, go for a lunch pie and pint then you could talk about doing your car. Mine just does not feel right, it seems to understeer badly on tight right handers. Steve was on the development team for the lotus, he takes the car for a blat then solves any problems he feels with the car. Just an idea, oh by the way you don't feel very well next friday!!!! :D Stumpy

I can't make that, I've got to be in Portsmouth in the morning and then we are off to Manc-land in the evening for the weekend. Let us know what he thinks / does though. PS. I hope you come to our local meet next time :P

Guys, Am bringing this back to the top as on friday I had a geom. check done on the car and a few changes made. Now it feels not just great but bloody brilliant. Basically Steve has altered the front and rear toe and camber (or should I say set them to be fully optimised for the car). It was well worth the £140 quid, we also went for a 20 minute blat round the daventry roundabouts, he can drive!!! (TVR Tuscan champ 2001 and 2002). The car seems to understear a lot lot less, 100+ MPH seems far less skitty (is that a word?) and all in all it just seems far more sure footed. Would recommend this to ANYONE. Stumpy PS cheers Steve if you are reading this

Looks as though i'd better make a phone call. Perhaps this will sort my understeer on right handers - left handers seem OK. P

will also be giving them a call in the near future. Although am curious as to what the price is, both £100 and £140 have been quoted, or does it just depend on how much you have done? <_<

John, Paul is the commercial boy, Steve and side kit Wayne are the setup boys. They started out as TVR specialists, then started looking after some guys Lotus. They are also looking to start racing again next year. They are interviewing for a team manager at the moment. They re very serious guys and DO know there stuff. They have not decided on a car yet but steve saaid he may well be interested in a Turbo. Please, please give them a call. They are just all round good guys. Stumpy cheers PS - We talked about the nitron kit and they said it would be no problem to set the thing up. There is also a track day on the 26th at Bruntingthorp (is that how you spell it?) Steve said he would come along so if you are about I think there are still a few places left. Perhps you could get the car setup there???? cheers
