I know a few vx's went up the strip yesterday, just wondering peoples times? I hear cheeky chops ran in the high 12's, very impressive. I saw the odd vxt run high 13's. I ran (stage 2 vxt) : 13.6 at 102mph :( 13.3 at 104mph :) 13.1 at 103mph :D Next time i WILL get it into the 12's :)

Got to agree. That jet car was something else. standing 1/4 5.9 sec, terminal speed 289mph. Probably not the quickest but definately the loudest.

thumbsup This takes me back a bit, to my youth. :sleepy: I saw the first sub 7 second run (in the UK) at Santa Pod in the late 60's. Dennis Priddle from Yeovil or some such out of the way town. The raw sound, the vibration, the stinging eyes - no wonder I'm going deaf & now wear glasses :beat: What an experience & yes, I bet it's just as awesome a specticle today as it was then. Imnotworthy Not quite another 'Vanishing Point' (if you don't know it - worth looking it up) but good enough for me thumbsup

Saw the european top fuel records broke a few years at Santa Pod in 2002. Picture this the FIA Top fuel finals two cars side by side ran 306 mph and 304 mph Both of which where in the 4 second bracket 4.877 and 4.922 I think. Now thats quick. Works out to be somethinng like 0-100mph in 60 feet 0.8 secs pulling some thing like 4 or 5 G Imnotworthy Makes your ribs shake thumbsup

From memory: Cheeky 12.8 (stage 2 VXR) Stu 13.02 ish (Stage 2 VXR) Me 13.3 (Superchipped VXT) Minime 14.5 ish (N/A with lots of stuff done to it) A blue Turbop one not on this site 17ish on his first run - hope he improved on that! Commentator said after Minimes run - I think thats about average for the VX. Cheeky B**tard. Obviously not paying attention.

last run performed during a hot day (in France) ! My car is not yet fine tuned, I had just replace my hybrid turbo, and I think I can save three or four 1/10 s more on 1/4 mile. I wonder what is the time of Thorney (The most powerful VXT of europe) in this exercice ? ;)
