Sorry for duplicating the item from the meetings section but if your like me you may have missed it. Who's going from here? I believe Thorney & Minime are up for it, I'm also going to be there. Looking forward to a bit of tyre kicking :) Ian.

It was good to see those that could make it today. Sorry I buggered off as soon as it started raining, I'll stick around for a beer next time. Top marks to Minime for coming all the way from Southampton!!

Not sure if this piccy will work but I have more to post once the site is working.

BTW.. Where was Thorney?

Cheers,
Ian.

Good day out :)
I think that's the first meet where there's been more Vx220's than elises :D

There's a remark on the pistonheads forums about us..

Great turnout ... it was a shape the VX220's had to take their exhausts off to be heard revving their engines

Not quite sure what he meant by that but it's not that we could compete with all those TVR's

James Exige managed to drown out the TVR behind him. God that car is loud!
It was funny to hear James pull out of the car park and once out of view hear the trademark backfire his car seems to produce reliably :)

Hope to see some of you on the next run.

Colin

ps. Where was thorney???

Talk about being pissed off. I had to leave by 11.30am and after spending 20 minutes just waiting to get into the car park I had to go - mucho hacked off. Gald it was good though, looking forward to our first meet on MArch 2nd :)

Here's a link to some pictures from it:

http://www.galaxyair...PHVWFeb2003.htm

They were taken by Brian from SEATCupra.net, so there's a little bit of SEAT bias in the piccies, but also some bias towards our VXs as he's a mate of mine :)

My VX exhaust sounded like a timid whimper with the TVR Griffith behind me filling the cabin with noise deafening me.

James' Exige sounded awesome - louder than the Lambo even!!

Good to meet you guys - we'll have to see if we can grow our numbers further at future PH meets.

Phill

Good run home too wasn't it Colin (considering it was on a boring motorway)! That's the fastest I've taken the VX on the public roads so far, and given the strong winds, it was pretty stable I thought. What sort of dick was that guy in the Jag S-Type though?! Kept changing lanes without indicating and cutting us up, you in particular. At one point he was in the slow lane and indicating (the only time he did!) to move into the middle lane between us, so I moved to the outside lane to let him across, and the twat went across both lanes in one go, cutting me up! If it had carried on for much longer I was gonna undertake him and teach him a lesson. Nice to go hunting as a pack though. First time since I got the car that I've driven any distance with another VX - used to do it all the time with SEATs. I don't understand the people that pull across in front of a VX though, or dawdle along without moving over. You'd think they'd see a sportscar (or in this case 2) looming up in their mirrors and think, 'he's gonna want to come through' or 'he's coming through pretty quick', and stay out of the way. I was surprised to see your car really Colin. You couldn't have spent long with Steve's car if you were there the same time as we were. See you on 9th March for the next one? Phill

Gents - good to meet up with you all - the PHer's are a good bunch with a large variety of cars on show - large amount of noise at 12 o'clock:) - has anyone thought about resurrecting the Griffin runs of last year now that the weather *should* be getting warmer? Cheers, James
