Some tw*t has kicked the driver's side door mirror from the car in the early hours of Sunday morning (pavement side so definitely vandalism). Has anyone replaced one of these before, is it a straightforward job?
I've been left with the body coloured front part of the mirror housing (cracked) and a spring sticking out where the mirror was. The mirror and the surrounding bit of black plastic are gone. So looks like I need to order the whole mirror assembly - up to the hinge point. Local dealer has quoted £66 for the part, £13 of that for the glass!

Don't suppose anyone knows the year of metro or part number? I'm guessing my best way of getting hold of one is by ordering 'blind' over the internet or from a Rover dealer, and they'll want to know what year of 'metro' it's going on.

i had a metro exactly the same as the one in the photo (red) and it was a 1990. Can't guarantee it's exactly the same but I'm sure it is...
