As Jason mentioned under another thread we both got trophies today... Jason got 4th in Class A (std engine) and I got 2nd in Class B (modded engine - even though just a remap......). Jason was up against fast company and did very well... I had a time of 1'19".00 and Jason had 1'.19.04 - this would have got him 3rd fastest (and a trophy) in Class B with std car thumbsup (best do that re-map Jase..).... before the last (4th run) I was 2nd with two Elises breathing down my neck 0.1 and 0.4 seconds behind... but I then improved my previous time by 1.4 secs which guaranteed me 2nd, 0.6secs behind 111R Elise...(which was fast and well driven... don't know what mods he had...). I leave the rest to Jason... Many thanks to Jason for walking the course with me and pointing out all the tricky bits... and good to meet Nick (VXT) and his mate in silver Elise... plus Jim coming over and giving support... Mick

Well I have to say - Brunters yesterday was just what I needed. Instead of the usual performance of taking two or three runs to get back into the swing of driving like a lunatic, after yesterday's sideways hooning I was pumped up and ready to go this morning (barely slept last night), putting in fast times right from the beginning. By the second practice run I'd already beat my PB by a second :jump: A word on the handling of the car - After some driver training, slightly wider front tyres and a geo setup it handles like I'd imagine a mid engined sports car should. Maintaining a tiny bit of throttle through the bend gives a perfectly balanced 4 wheel drift, push a bit harder and there's a hint of understeer with a bit of rear squirming, lift slightly and the car slowly moves into a gentle tail slide. Awesome fun. The whole day was pretty much spent playining with this balance through the bends with a couple of beautiful jap-style drifts (sadly I failed to catch those on tape :P ). The turn in speed of car also seems to respond much more delicately to how quickly I come off the brakes now which is nice. Anyway, all this messing about resulted in a few messy/oversteery runs but once I got it nailed the car was turning real quick. I think I went from 3rd, down to about 6th, then back up to 4th with one run to go and the guy in 5th 0.1 second behind me. Pressure! Lucky for me a took I shade off my time on the last run and the guy in 5th pushed a bit too hard and didn't improve on his previous time. The guys in 2nd and 3rd were out of reach really and the guy in first was untouchable all day in his Caterham Superlight superfast mentalist machine. Not sure on the final series standings for the year, they'll prob sort them out in a couple of days I guess. Top day with a great bunch of guys (and girls). Nice to meet you Nick (VXT) and also Laura :) Thanks for the company Mick - I look forward to a bit of friendly competition next year thumbsup Got a couple of vids here if you give me a few minutes...

I think it's time for really serious suspension on that thing :)

Hi Joss

No not really tracking at Brunters... it was more experience of tracking at Castle Combe last Monday... I had a day with a real racing driver (we shared my car) who showed me how much faster it is to be slower going in to a bend, so you can get power on much earlier coming out of the bend... thumbsup (when I say slower I mean relatively speaking... ;)
