I sent a mail to ITG airfilters a month ago :o asking about development of a filter (minime's?), power, how long to market, price etc. I have this reply back today:-

"Dear Paul
Thank you for your mail.

We have done a prototype kit to fit the VX220 using a Dbilas manifold.
Unfortunately the Customer who was going to rolling road the vehicle has
not been bothered to contact me and let me know what has gone on. When
I know I will advise you.

I am getting in a standard VX220 at the end of this month to do a full
kit which might take a month to get to prototype stage but once I have
the R.R. reports I'll keep you in touch.

I will be disappointed if we do not get somewhere between 6-8 bhp peak
power increase over standard plus better driveability lower down the rev
range."

I replied
"he guy I think you are talking about (Steve/yellow VX?) was at the VX220 rolling road day last Saturday 2nd Aug. I am surprised he hasn't got back in contact with you as he was initially quite impressed with the general feel after the replacement for the K+N. However, he was disappointed with the general results of the RR day, esp to find his ecu upgrade running very lean. A link to the results of the RR day is here :- http://www.vx220.org...t=ST&f=9&t=2940

The standard to match/beat is PiperX Viper - at £250rrp it is expensive but has provided 10bhp on the VXT (see above link). I am sure you will also see there are plenty of owners looking for mods, both in the UK and Europe.

I will also post your response on the forum and see what Steve's take on this is."

So, i presumed this was Minime?? Either way, another option coming to market :D

i spoke stuart at itg today and gave him the low down on my itg kit.....i understand he is going to be sorting out one on a non modded vx.... i can confirm that the itg kit does improve the torque curve and especially from 1900rpm thru to 3500( amazing flat ) but i will post more info including graphs after rr my car again!

Bit more info from "Mr ITG" - "Thank you placing a post on the web site, Steve has just called and filled me in on what has gone on, so I am a happy bunny now. He has passed on his comments as to where the kit has improved the performance of his vehicle which from what I remember is pretty special anyway. Based on what we already do for the Elise 2 our kit for the VX220 will be about £299.00 + VAT = £ 351.32. More expensive than our competitors but designed to fit the VX220 not a one filter kit that fits all makes. Matter of opinion as well but our kit has more parts which will increase the cost and which are of a much better quality and our air box is designed to maximize high pressure air rather than just dumping turbulent air into a chamber that holds an air filter so you never know it might develop the odd bhp or more. We currently sell around 20 kits a month for the Elise 2 and have sold in excess of 400 since we started so I would like to think that the discerning VX220 owner would be equally impressed with the performance and quality we have to offer. Itg's philosophy is more that we create products to a standard and not down to a price. As soon as we have a standard car in I will be able to check on the installation but it might be possible that we can make a bracket similar if not the same to the one we made on Steve's car when that kit goes into production and just end up having to make a special hose to position the air box where we need it to be."
