I notice on courtney's site HERE that they offer a panel filter for £30 and an airbox mod for £35...

I presume this is removing the horn from the 'box but, do they replace it with anything?? Or maybe a shorter one to help smooth the air flow?

I want an induction but ins. co. are being to$$ers....

Mmmm maybe, but I cant believe with all this global parts sharing that the box isnt the same dimensions as on an astra, saab, corsa, lizzy etc...

We list 1500 different sizes of panel filter, and the VX 2.2 isn't the same as any of them. The Turbo filter is the same size as a Mk 4 Astra, but the 2.2 is a one-off. The Mk 4 Astra 2.2 and Vectra B 2.2 both use different airboxes to the rest of their respective range also....

Vauxhall's TIS 2000 claims that the 'Air Cleaner is carried over from the Vectra-B' But then again, that's probably what engineering told the bean counters... :)

I have a courtenay panel filter for my vx220 2.2 with the aibox mods. Been about for a couple of months or so now. I think they mod the lid and original pipework and fit a second inlet - bit technical 4 me. I just drive it. :D I'm 100% convinced they've got a panel filter for the 2.2 as I've got one!!

Check out their website Courtenay Sport

Be interested to know how the mods/second inlet works. Some MGF owners take a second inlet from underneath the car and join the two pipes with a "Y" connector before they reach the airbox.
