Any luck with sourcing the badges for No 50 mate?

Good morning,
I now owns VXR36 and will send shortly updated description of it. Being service at Type116 Motorsports as we speak.
Also converted my VXT red stage 4 in VXR clone using part from VXR51.

I’ve had to compromise on the badges, the front Griffin badge is 90mm in diameter the best I’ve found is 80mm diameter that will be fixed tomorrow. The rear badges have been I bit of a mission the Griffin badge is genuine VX220 bought from Germany, the VXR badge had been fitted to the front(?) which I’ve removed and will be repainted the flash with Calypso Red touch up paint and 3M tape reapplied, the 220 I just could not source so I’ve bought a Merc E220 rear badge and will use just the numbers, they are 25mm high which is the same as the VX letters, should get that on tomorrow as well - will post pictures.

What happened to the Moonland and Coral Blue examples (one of each)?

I think the Moonland one has been modded and used as a track car. I don't know about the Coral Blue one.

Knew the chap that owns the Moonland one. Haven't seen him for ages but he still has it. Was running 300 bhp ten years ago and I suspect more now..

Last I recall is Dave Hardwick owns the blue VXR, along with Simon's (MrSimba) old black VX220T.

Looking good Wilksy - that VXR badge really didn't look right on the front.

Cheers couldn’t agree more the one that was on the rear seems to be proper VXR badge as well but with the red flash removed which is a shame

Hey all, I've had number 62 since July or  August 2018,  VIN 7661. It spent 6 months at Courteney being fixed, now a beautifully sorted VXR.

Wow, what did you have done at Courtenay?

I think pretty much everything. I'm not particularly mechanically technical but from what I remember:

- full engine rebuild:

- replacement pistons

- something to do with rods being replaced with steel ones (any clues???)

- balancer shaft removal

- better clutch - supposed to be heavier than the original, but I can't tell - does Helix Organic make any sense?

- all bearings replaced

- flywheel replaced with lighter variant

It already had a Milltek exhaust - if it had the standard one, they'd have swapped it out for another type, but I didn't see the point in replacing a replacement for a marginal gain. Any views on a 'better' exhaust?

All in all, I'm v. happy. When I bought the car, the throttle response wasn't ideal - there was a huge, and often alarming, power drop around 4k revs. - hence wanting the engine to be sorted. The maps below show the differences. I'm currently driving on 'run-in' settings, final tuning will be in a few months (at which time I'm told there will be a minor uplift). Blue is old, red is new, post engine work.
