The tape used to insulate and protect the wiring loom - I am trying to source some. Anybody know what I should be looking for. Its not Denso I take it.

We sell self imalgamating tape at the yacht chandlers I work at in Southampton. Might be worth checking with one. Not sure if that's what used though

You don't use self amalgamating tape. Looms use either cloth tape or non-adhesive plastic tape to bind them up. The usual technique is to bundle the wires using cloth tape at branches and at points along runs and then wrap them in the plastic tape. If you do it right (and it is pretty easy) the finished job looks top.

This bunch here have a terrible website but supply everything you need. They will also sell you all the proper terminals you need so you don't need to use those vile insulated terminals that Halfords sell.

Check out, the Linen Tape from the details below. A colleague at Vintage Cars, he does the electrics, had the Self Amalgamating Tape and is not what is on the VX. But he also had the Linen Tape which is very, very simular, if not the same as on my car. Innotec Supplies (UK) Ltd. Tel: 01722 411744 www.innotecworld.com Product No. 05.2330
