please can anyone tell me how to disconnect the ABS can i take the fuse out? which fuse is it? the reason i want rid of the ABS is because when braking hard from 60MPH the ABS comes on and even when i lift off slightly it still stays on and its really scarry because i over shoot the anticipated stoping point by atleast 20ft!

You need to disconnect a front wheel sensor either left or right,if you remove the fuse the tacho doesn't work anymore.

what do you mean the tacho doesnt work? do you mean the ABS light will light up all the time? or the whole instrument pannel wont work? i dont mind if the ABS light is permantly on as long as it cuts the ABS. thanks everyone for the response!

what do you mean the tacho doesnt work?

I mean that the tacho doesen't work anymore if you disconnect the ABS fuse, also the engine can stall when you stop running, because the tachometer speed is taken by a rear ABS sensor and the engine ECU take account of the speedo signal for idling motor :o :o

right, let me make sure i've got this right in my head before i break something... just read the DIY section on ABS Cut off switch, what i understand from this is that you need to basicly cut that yellow wire to take away ABS and if you want ABS back on you basicly join the wires up again?

VXNA and VXTurbo have (crappy) 2-channel ABS system. VXR has proper (and more expensive) 4-channel ABS system, as per S2 elise. Can't see how a VXR module would work better (if at all), but would be happy to learn of a significant improvement for the 2 channel system. Johnny B, please explain!!!!!!!!!!!! Cheers

It is a 4 channel ABS not 2 ,only the software is to blame....

first of all i would like to say that i don't have a clue how many channels which module has markv had installed vxr module in his speedster and i folowed his footsteps and did the same.

I had problems with hard pedal and etc.. then i changed to 16/17 wheels and the problem progressed far far more (out of 10 at least 6 failed - pedal hard, .. undriveble car).
I belive that if my car was to be serviced when it should (abs recall) this might not happen when i changed the wheels but it wasnt and ...

Changing the module is a 5 min job couple of screews take the old out, new, drive :)

Compared to what i had before it is magic. It's predictable to say at least.
