Hi, whilst inputting details on the Norwich Union Insurance site I've been asked to specify the category of the security system of my standard 2003 VX220 NA. Is it Tatchem cat 1 or cat 2? I have tried searching - no luck. I'm sure I've read something on the site but can't recall where. Any help most welcome. Wayne P.S. Been quoted approx £450 for non garaged with No claims protection (5 years)

Wonder if someone can also help me in this area. Insurance have sent a immobiliser declaration form, which needs the following:- full make and model of immobiliser (anyone know?) approximate date (i can guess this bit) name and address of fitters and thier qualifications (how would i know?)

I had the same with my insurers. Just phoned them up and told them it was the factory fit alarm / imoboliser and they were fine with that.

My insurer (RAC) has quoted on a Cat 2 security system until I give them the exact make and model of the Cat 1 device. Is it a standard Vauxhall alarm or an aftermarket one branded by Vauxhall?

can't remember what alarm it is, but if you do a play around with search you'll find it - make and model (Think it was Meta M99T)

As above, when the form turned up, I just put down standard Vauxhall Cat 1 alarm that was good enough. Good quote price!
