Hey, does anyone know where I can get some sort of rack to go on the back of a VX? Doesnt have to be too fancy I can always modify it to suit but need a good foundation to work on. cheers.

It is possible.
Have a look here... it's been discussed a few times before...

>>clickety-click<<

Does the job, but a lot of hassle if it's just for occasional use....

I hadn't noticed the holes in the car and a $1500 hole in the wallet before

Perhaps a folding bike would be a better bet.

Even MTBs: http://www.dahon.com/intl/fuego.htm

Edit to add: but that Fuego ain't cheap either - approx £1700.

Or for really top notch folding bikes try

Airnimal Folding bikes

I have a Performance sport with straight bars, kevelar reinfoced tyres and some other neat stuff and have toured France several times in my VX with this in a bag in the front seat together with a kite buggy in the boot and 4 power kites plus the usal travelling stuff for a two week trip, clothes, tent, crash helmet...
Who says you can't get much luggage ina VX!

Hi jneil - I don't think so but may be you are my doppelganger? ;-). And at least i got rid of the typos this time before I hit the submit LOL Might have to sell my kite stuff as I had knee surgery a couple of months ago and twisting and heavy impacts etc are now a no no!

Can be adapted for luggage, 4 tires, skis, or bikes. I can send lots of details if anyone wants them. This came after searching out about 100 other racks that dont work on our car. Details available if you want--why they blow off, rattle, etc. Worked with the Hethel factory to make one right. Use only the factory steel roll bar and engine support. Picture shows the factory steel and the rack bars fitting into them. Two-sided version in sketch. One-sided version in pictures. See more pics at www.uniquerack.com or send me an email?
