Hi, I'm desparate to get some 16" fronts and run some sticky Yoko A048 all round for Trackday's this summer. No one has any stock or lead times for OZ or Speedline wheels so I'm looking at having some Compomotive's made up ready for the summer track action I plan. Has any one used these or have an opinion on them ? I found the thread from the guy in Holland but was woundering whether anyone else had any experiances they can share ? I want to run (on standard hubs) Front 195/50 R16 Rear 225/45 R17 Preferably before August when there MIGHT be some OZ/Speedlines knocking about ! HELP !

Nick You've probably noticed but the design is slightly different front to back (to do with the offset I think). I'm thinking of getting these also - cheapest way of getting 16" fronts so have e-mailed compomotive to see if they could make front and rears same design. As a matter of interest which width are you thinking of using (no one could give me an answer to this one) 6.5 or 7"? and7, 7.5 or 8" rears P

Hi, I'm looking to copy the OZ Super T wheels so 6.5 Front, 7.5 Rear. I spoke to a sales guy called Justin today at Compomotive and he confirmed this size will work with the tyres I want, with 1/2 inch room to play with if needed. They basically machine the wheel from a blank or mould to match your offset and stud pattern that you require. Lead times are therefore 6-8 weeks as the wheels are made to order. The difference in shape of the spokes is because the 16 fronts 'blank' is a mud and snow rally tyre so needs the room for the calipers to fit. Compomotive have been doing rally wheels for years and these guys know how to take a selection of wheels and tyres out with them !

I don't know if it's just me but Compomotive's website is dire! Personally I prefer the flat Speedline shape (looks like the front Compo's are similar) as I don't think the dished shape suits the vx's shape. But if the weights & price is right then I'm sure I could live with them! Any idea on full specs?

nickkroo Are you also intending the Compomotives to be lighter than the OEM & Speedlines? I think the Oz's shave a couple of kg off each corner. chinky chinky

Look good, but are they available to fit the VX? Are they magnesium (rumoured to be too soft for road use)? And how much are they?

You've got no chance with the Team Dynamics wheels. I tried to purchase some last week for the VX abd although their brochure said that they could do it in the correct sizes, when it came down to it they could not

they can, i saw a set last week end. ;)

In black and they looked Imnotworthy

the price is also Imnotworthy i think the whole set retails at under £500, they do require a 5mm front spacer though. Ultra light, but they are not Magnesium.

they do require a 5mm front spacer though.

I think that effectively means they don't fit?

i think you're probably right...

Yep as bunny boy said, they are cut from blanks and so will make up pretty much any set you want as long as the blanks match. I think it was David I spoke to when I enquired for a previous car. I know it was RimStock I spoke to directly rather than a supplier.
