Did anyone get these for the rears? I'm considering it but i'm wondering what the handling effect would be with two front bridgestones and two rear toyos. Colin

I don't like them.......got them on my 2 other cars, and I'd stick with the Bridgestone's any day.

I've always had T1-s on my cars (M3, MR2, S3) and find then amazing in the dry and very good in the wet. That is having all 4 of them the same though, not sure how just a pair on the rear would fair... I've not tried the Bridgestone's on a VX yet as I'm a prospective buyer (test driving one tomorrow!) so can't comment on if the Toyo's are any better.... but the TS-1 tyre is now an old design and there are no doubt other/better tyres on the market! Just my 2 pence worth! Regards Jon

Some tyres suit some cars more than others. I know for example that some elise owners have reported that the elise does not handle well on P-Zero's but my S60 Volvo grips really well on the P-Zero Nero's it came fitted with (wear is crap though - can't have everything).

Hi all, I have the upgraded 050's on the rear of my vx which i think are great BUT when i was at Gugliemi motorsport (the excellent chassis guys) they said that upgrading the FRONT should be the first thing to do to try and quell the understeer. Having better rubber on the rear means you actually make the car less fun as it pushes you in a straight line (while you are trying to steer!) This has been cured to an extent with the chassis mods they carried out. I think different wheels and wider front rubber will be the next mod. As for T1s v 040/050?????? i have no idea how they actually compare. Thats my 2p in aswell! Mike :D

TBH I've only asked this question as my rears are knackered. I was looking at mytyres.net and noticed these ones cheaper than the bridgestones.

From the general comments I've heard about Proxes, they are very grippy in the dry and the wet, and the look cool, but I wouldn't expect them to last long - seem to have very high wear rates

The wear on them is scary... I had a set on the front of my Veccy for about 7k miles, and needed to change them due to one getting damaged - there was very little tread left on them anyway!
