Did this yesterday with Motorsport Events. It was their first meeting there and well supported with a good mix of cars. Great to see another VX there thumbsup The directions to get there look complicated but its much more straightforward than you think. The road leading to the venue is not a single track road as I originally thought. Entry is through Crash Gate 4 and a gentle run round the perimeter road. Its the best kept airfield circuit I've been to and its obviously still a very operational airbase. The surface is very good although it looks a bit patchy in places. I didn't find it very abraisive as my rears were getting near the limit before yesterday and they're still legal now. In terms of layout it is without doubt the best I've driven. I thought Abingdon was good but Colerne is better. Its a clockwise circuit incorporating runways and perimeter roads so you get a bit of everything. It's quite a technical circuit with a mix of chicanes, hairpins, fast flowing corners, decent straight sections and a couple of bends with blind turn-ins which is unusual for airfields. Ed Moore is rightly pleased with the circuit he's devised. Unlike Keevil which I got to know very well before the end of my first visit there, Colerne is more testing and requires more concentration to drive well. It's also the type of circuit where handling and driver ability is more important than just straight line speed. I was still learning (and making mistakes) when the day ended but I'll be back there on September 2nd. 97 RON is available at the Esso garage in Box which is only a short drive from the airfield. All in all an excellent day. Highly recommended thumbsup

Sorry guys,

Cant really afford another track day this year.

But it also looks like im gunna have a different car early next year (in favour of the more practicle) thinking about a Mitzu Eclipse so will still come on a couple of track days in it.

Would do but have too many expenses this month... Insurance required on 2 cars and need to sell off the Yaris, but it needs new drums and MOT doing in the next couple of weeks. Before we can sell it. Seriously considering it though.

If I'm not moving house that weekend I might try and make it along to this one. Will have to play it by ear a little though :)

Only , what 12 days away now. August has been a very slow month , what with having no fun at trackdays.

Still plenty of time for the rest of you all to do the proper thing and get booked in :D

I guess we better start preparations, weather check, SUL fuel availability , convoy meetup etc.

Sorry guys but I'm out of this one :( A trip to A+E yesterday confirmed I've strained/pulled chest muscles and breathing is a bit painful. Been told I've got to take it easy for a week or so, so a track day on Saturday is a no-no. Really hacked off about this :beat: as its the last Colerne date this year. You'll have a great day - it's a fab little circuit thumbsup Note to self - Do not repeat Kama Sutra page 47 :P  Revised list....... 1) MartinS ( NA TMS stage 2 ) 2) Dodge ( NA Courtenay CS4 , nitrons ) 3) siztenboots ( VXT stage 1 ) 4) Walkes ( VXT stage 1 ) 5) Phil ( VXT ) 6) ChazUwe (NA Stage 2)
