Hey guys, Can anyone tell me if the VIN number of the car is the same for all VX220s except for the final four-digit build number? I.e. if I take my VIN number, remove my build number, and put another build number on it, will that VIN be correct for that VX? Nothing dodgy I promise - it's just that I have rear NA alloys on the front of my VX, which I believe are also in need of recall. I know the build number of the VX that they came off, but I wanted to be able to give the Vauxhall garage the actual VIN number of the car.

Anorak alert! 2.2 chassis number will be something like W0L0EAR97*N00---- The * will be 1 if the car is 2001 model year (no door pockets etc.), a 2 if it's a 2002 model year or & very unlikely a 3 if it's a 2003 model year. The ---- are the final 4 digits 0001 to 5500 or so. Turbo's will be W0L0EBR973N006000 & upwards, they are all 2003 model year right up to the last ones built in 2005, even the VXRs. Forgive me if I have got a letter or number wrong but I couldn't be bothered to check before posting

Hmmm, I find it quite worrying that I still haven't forgotten this stuff .

Still, Twelve years for it to sink in & it's only 2 years since I left .
