Just seen this on the bay:

http://cgi.ebay.co.u...1QQcmdZViewItem

Has anyone done this conversion on a VX? I'd love to get this for my NA and do the conversion myself, but have no idea what would be needed.eg.Drive shafts etc.

I imagine that it's pretty similar to converting the Elise?

Shamone!!!!!!!

Nice meeting you the other day bud! thumbsup

If you want info on the K20/a conversion have a look at blink motorsport. HERE.... good vids and info on what is needed etc.

>>>>>>Elvington fun - Right click save as<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<

You are looking @ between £7k-10k [dep on if you get the engine etc]

Personally I wouldnt do it myself as you dont get a warranty on the work carried out - plus all that dyno/remap work, parts sourcing etc will get very expensive.... plus will take you a while to do!

The turnaround on a K20a conversion is 1 x working week from a respected garage like Sinclairs, Blink, Ive even heard Horizon is up for a conversion too ;)

Ps.. Blink has also done one for a Caterham so its not just confined to Elises.

I have to admit that I would love a K20a with Kpro ECU so that the cam switchover point is lower and limiter raised to 9000rpm in an NA..... 240bhp all NA!!!!! nice and light so the dynamics of the NA will not change too much. You can also add a SC - 9psi seeing 300bhp [as you know Shamone!!!]

Go for it thumbsup

B) That looked like 100 in 10 seconds  I would have thought the limited market for Honda/Audi conversions in a vx will see them a long way off tbh See the TB thread.... Scuffers is well quoted as saying the Honda conversion cost 100k plus to develop. So i can't see a host of tuners queuing up when you can get 300+ bhp out of the standard (modded) VXT

The article is all in german... just interesting then?

Have forgotten, that the link would be broken without membership.

Facts: Engine civic Type R BUT with the japanese Spec and so with stock 220 PS !!! not only the 200 of the blink-ones. 6-gear, less 50 kg, with secondlast mapping on seperate ECU 231 PS and 215NM.

Build in cooperation with komotec. (23900€ for conversion in case of a elise :( )

Hi Christurbo, good to meet you too! Mo Fo :P I really thought it would be a cheap way to the magic 200bhp barrier. There's the engine on Ebay for under £2K (at the moment), it comes with the wiring loom and ECU. Also I'll need some brackets to mount the engine, driveshafts shortening, and the exhaust modifying. OK, that's about £2.5K WRONG-£10k Oh my God :( How come it's soooooo much? £100K development costs, how come? I bet the Lotus 7 didn't cost that much to develop the whole car
