Hi all, I would just like to let you all know that we have developed a 250 bhp ECU upgrade for the VX220 Turbo. Yes, with a simple ECU upgrade, you can have 250 bhp with no other modifications. To celebrate the launch of this product, we are organising a Dyno Day for VX220 Turbos on Saturday 25th November. Please call us on (details deleted for commercial post) for more information. Regards, Adam. (details deleted as a commerical post) cheers

MMMmmmmmm, Two questions! 1) Is this a paid for post? Thorney's rules (by which we all abide) don't allow commercial posts unless cleared and paid for!!!!!! 2) What about cooling? Thorney and Vauxhall have done a lot of work and development on tuning the T and both have said cooling mods ARE A MUST when pushing the engine that far and have come up with different solutions to the problem. Please check your conscience and edit the post if nessesary. Please ignor if already cleared with Thorney.

Two good points VEX. Checking the website I was interested to see this. 13-Q. What about an induction kit? 13-A. You should remove your induction kit, replace it with the standard air box and fit a performance panel filter. Why?

Because cones just draw hot air. We have yet to see a cone filter that improves power. Most loose 20 bhp at the wheels. We used a Vauxhall Dealer's car for the development. The thing was actually running marginally cooler after tuning. This was not really supposed to be a commercial post, which is why I am advertising the dyno day, and also making people aware of our upgrade. That's why I'm not posting this as a sales plug, just simply letting people know we have it. Don't forget, you can call us on (number deleted as commercial post) for more info! Adam.

Hmmm, I fail to see how this isn't a commercial post, you're intention is to sell them to members here. All our other tuners recognise that this site is a valuable resource and abide by the rules of at least asking permission before posting like this. It would be unfair to the others who have asked to let it stand. However, instead of simply deleting the post I will use it to demonstrate the kind of tuning which potentially has a negative effect on the car. ANYONE can remap the ecu and get 250bhp out of the engine, the fact you're using a dealers car means you're not even risking your own property, just borrowing someone elses. Plug a tech2 in and see what intake temps you're running, you'll have 250bhp alright just before you grenade the engine into a thousand pieces. Vauxhall themselves released the Sprint (a car they know will be driven hard and essentially broken for development purposes) and EVEN THEY run extra cooling via water injection and misters. So I ask you this, why on earth would anyone here be interested in taking a tuners solution via an blatant commercial post (without even asking permission) using a borrowed car and using no further cooling when the World and his wife all knows that cooling is paramount in this car. If you want to have a private converstion about relative merits of cooling and the etiquette then drop me an email on thorney2000@yahoo.com and I'm sure we can help to educate one another. If you chose not to converse in this way I'll simply delete any further advertising posts as they appear. Anyone else have a problem with this?

Thorney the contact number on the original post has not been edited! This is a blatant commercial post - they don't own a car , have any intentions of owning one or have any interest in the VX. It hijacks all the effort but in by the recognised companies e.g. AMD etc. I would edit the whole post IMO or get the individual/company to pay for the space.

Thanks mate...well spotted.

To be honest what they're suggesting is so bad for the engine that their post is enough of a disincentive not to go there

However I'm glad you agree with the fact that its pissed me off. AmD, PVD and a few others put a lot of time and effort into helping all the members here the least we can do is support those who support us.

I'd be quite happy for Chip Tuning to be supportive as well, but only if they release a product which is worth supporting and frankly this aint it.

I thought you might respond like this. Most forums do. Please accept my apologies for the commercial nature. We should have simply advertised the dyno day. Adam.

And instead of trying to laugh it off perhaps a reasonable donation to our server fund would be appropriate.
