Picture posting.

The vx Forum will not allow direct uploading of pictures from your own computers.

The best way to post a picture is to sign up to a free account at www.photobucket.com or www.flickr.com for example. Follow the instructions on the sites and upload your pictures to them as you would have to this site before the revamp.

Please make sure your picture is no larger than 800 by 600 pixels so it fits a standard size screen, because moderators can no longer resize them (If you can't rezise, post it anyway and i'll sort it for you :) )

Once you picture is uploaded it will have a web address (you can get it by right clicking on the image and selecting properties)

Finally in the posting window on the forum, click the image icon between the 'envelope' and 'quote' icon. A prompt will ask you for the address of your picture (recommend a copy and paste) or you can do it manually by enclosing the web address with

If you have any questions please contact myself or another moderator.

some people still seem to be having issues with picture sizes it seems...

get yourself Microsft Windows Image resizer Powertoy <HERE> (its a genuine programme so dont worry about installing it)

Once its installed if you 'Right Click' on the image, at the top of the box that open's you'll see 'Resize Pictures' - 640x480 is a good size for this forum (800x600 Max). That'll size the picture up or down accordingly.

Then go to a hosting website, i use ImageShack - its a free site & you dont have to sign up if you dont want to. It also resizes pics but i find it can sometimes crash/timeout if the pic is too big to start with.

Ok once your there, click 'Browse' and go to the relevant folder where you have the picture you'd like to upload (i normally just put them on the desktop for ease of finding)

Then select your picture, click 'Host it!'

The next screen that appears shows loads of links, go right to the bottom and higlight/copy the last link.

it'll look like this example -> http://img101.images...urvxpicture.jpg

Then, come back on here, go onto the thread you want to post in and click on 'New reply' at the top of the reply box you'll see a small icon with a tree in it. Click on that & another smaller box will open. Right click, and 'Paste' the URL you've copied from Imageshack into this box. Click 'Ok' and it will insert the picture link into the thread.

Job's a good 'un.
