Noise = VSE Performance = Milltek I went from the VSE to the Milltek and I miss the noise a little, but I know the milltek helps my engine breath better with the ITG induction kit. I think the Milltek+ITG is the best option for noise and performance combined.

The VSE has much more restrictive bends in it, this slows down the flow of gas and increases back pressure.

thought so, which is why im thinking of making the standard backbox less restrictive and putting a 200 cell cat in place of standard thumbsup

I don't think it's quite as clearcut as that. The difference in noise between a milltek and a VSE is far greater than the alleged difference in performance (assuming backbox only).

What performance gains have you obtained with the milltek and ITG over your VSE setup?

The VSE has much more restrictive bends in it, this slows down the flow of gas and increases back pressure.

The VSE does have tight-ish bends but the Milltek isn't as curvy as other manufacturers either. You also could argue that the design of the silencer on the VSE should not impeded the flow of gas anywhere near as much as the design of the Milltek.

Hmmm dunno what to do then really...is the performance lost that significant? How many horses are there in difference betwixt the two anyone know?

Given that in the VX220.org.uk shop the BHP gains are only claimed to be 1-2bhp for the Milltek backbox, it's a non-issue.

You can see that there's a whole load less to the VSE and it's pipework is not really much different to the Milltek. (The Milltek pic does show a full system rather than just the backbox)

They didn't make one for the VX, last time I checked. They were approached a year or two ago but were waiting for a critical mass of interest or something.

The Larini's I've heard on Elises haven't really impressed me. Too high pitched and metallic.

Ask plans motorsport about the new exhaust . Should be everything the VSE and Miltek are and then some.

My vote goes for Milltek, performance and a good improvement over the standard exhausts noise thumbsup :)

Not yet! :(

However as you can see I'm working out the possibilities if I get an unmodified VX...
