Hi guys, I am looking for a supplier of plastic windows for the VXT. I remember seeing them for sale 300 quid for a windscreen and approx 70 quid for doors... polycarbonate would be the preffered material. cheers Tim

try plastics4performance.co.uk (or .com) but you wont be able to use the windo winders..... otherwise the polycarb will get scratched to feck. also id doubt the windscreen is available (nor legal for ANY use bar prehaps stock car racing lol)

polycarb is "legal" - for track racing.... as they don't have an E on them you cant use them for raod use, althought i have heard of a few people getting poly windows through an MOT.

Plans Motorsport have them in stock. Windscreen, side windows and rear window. Light, and safe. If you have evr had a rear screen break you'll know what I mean. The sharp bits get in your eyes when a stone coming over the windscreen with the roof off breaks the rear screen, let alone a race car accident. They are made from antiscratch Lexan, which is the best material for this application. Technically the Lexan front screen is an MOT failure point, but I've yet to find an MOT tester that has spotted it is not glass let alone knows the rules

I fitted polycarbonate side windows to my car this summer. Unless you are planning to remove the winow winder mechanism and fix them rigidly to the door frame, I'd think again. As mentioned above, they are too flexible and bow out at speeds above 60mph leaving a couple of inch gap at the top of each window. I planned to fix mine in place with metal brackets, to stop them flexing, but want to retain the ability to raise/lower the windows occassionally, so I'm refitting the glass windows at the moment.

Tim, if you're planning on getting the 6 point cage we've done then don't worry about getting a rear screen, it comes with the cage.
