whilst i generally prefer not to answer for sale threads, for your benefit i would advise that RAC inspection on a vx will pick up absolutely nothing at all. By way of example, an ex palmer (race/track hack) was inspected by the RAC prior to an owner on here purchasing. As you can imagine, as soon as a well known specialist saw it was obvious that it was generally f****d. RAC inpection: thumbsdown

Would it be worth actually putting an idea of the price you are willing to pay rather than just "book price"? e.g. X reg: 9500 - 10000 Y reg: 10000 - 10500 51 reg: 10500 - 11000 etc.

Well a VXL main dealer has just offered me £10,500 for mine. :P Albeit in PX for a new tubby but even so, shows that Parkers is way off the mark. :beat: Cap and Glass' are the trade guides anyway, no dealer/trader worth their salt would use parkers, it's intended for general public use not motor trade. thumbsup

Guys! Please can we keep the forum to people who have cars for sale and not what you think they are worth. djegiant - the main dealer will offer you more than the book as it is xmas so sales are very slow for them. Also they have the best margins as they are the people who put the mark up on in the first place. VX's lose 50% in the first year so good luck with your 10,5k offer I used to work for vauxhall and no they will not lose out! but would recommend you take their offer as anyone viewing your posts will see how long you (djegiant) have been advertising your car at the price you ask with no response or interest so stop jabbing on about how mush your car is worth when you cant sell yours!!!!. For your interest djegiant you may also want to look in autotrader where you will see you can get these from a main dealer at the moment on a 2003 plate for £10995 with 18k on the clock! get with it, stop mouthing off on forums and move on! many thanks! If anyone has a car for sale please let me know. Oh and last think mr djegiant. I have a vxt and no whats its worth so stop acting almighty - look on piston heads too they go for 9.5 to 10.5k - or should i say the ones that sell do! for any genuine persons with a car i am lloking for a silver vx low miles upto 10k ish ta letchworth77 PS...have a look at djegiant topics and jusdge for yourself if he has a handle on the right selling price. If that fails email pipty who just sold his perfect minter for 9k after advertising it for ages!

1. This is a thread, not a forum. 2. Claiming that you worked for Vauxhall will not command any respect on this forum (correct usage of the term) and quite probably the opposite. 3. VXs did not lose 50% in their first year. Mine hasn't quite lost 50% in over 3 years. 4. You might want to moderate you tone if you want to get anywhere. chinky chinky

Not meaning to intrude on your thread, but this constant attempt at driving down the market is starting to p*ss me off a bit. I don't intend to sell my car so at the moment I really don't care if they are worth 5p or 5M, equally I didn't buy a car and expect it not to depreciate (porsches depreciate too), but half-wit dealers really get on my nerves when they try and pull a fast one and get your car for next to nothing in part exchange, and you sound just like that!! :9mm:

Also not insulting you personally Mr Letchworth77, however some of the vauxhall dealers I've come across haven't excatly excelled in the honesty stakes (and not that far from you, assuming your user name relates to your location!) - so the "I was a Vauxhall dealer, so what I say is true" doesn't really cut it.

Just one question - if the price you say is the going rate and they are as easy to get hold of as a second-hand Vectra, why are you still asking for one?

Having established that the book price on a 2000 plate like this is "Good = £7,560" This example is not exactly proving your point, so I would drop it. thumbsdown
