My VX is in to have the geo "breathed" upon by the scared stiff guys - luckily they live locally so i dropped it in at one of the guys houses, and, gonna pick it up later.

They will setup the goemetry for £140. Steve (who won some TVR championships) takes it out for a spin and pretty much knows whats is wrong/right with it. Then they adjust the castor/camber/toe until it is just perfect :)

I explained that when going around fast bends i felt like one front wheel was tuging one way and the other was trying to go under the car rally . They reckon thats normal for factory cars and their changes will dial that out, giving alot more confidence and predictability thru bends.... Roll on Bedford!!! :groupjump:

I did say "so does he set one up and they are all the same....?" But apparently all are fractionally different and there is no standard setup....

Well, I think for a particular need (highway, twisty track, long straits track, ...) the numbers should be roughly the same for every car (for the same driver) even if the way to get them could be different (number of shims needed for good camber, ...)... Anyway, it's just a "for your information" request ! ;)

Ok, i will ask him later, but as someone else said, if he gives it out, anyone can then do it?? Just had Paul from SS on the phone - says its absolutely perfect now!!! :) It was "wandering left" along straight - thats gone. They also setup a 4.5 Grif this morning for sprints - he compared them back to back and reckons the VX would destroy it around the twisties :groupjump: Interestingly, they reckon a front spiltter would help loads, one that works... Does the VXT one do anything or is it just "for show"

the vxt one does the biz....but you apparently should fit a rear spoiler too! mine gets more stable above 90mph! but i think this is also down to how low the car is set aswell! :groupjump:

Yes and no...

The point is also to be able to get to these numbers...

:)

Anyway, in any aligment shop, once done, you get a paper with all the numbers.

CC, please post your findings. Mine will be going there as soon as the new wheels are sorted by Thorney. They shall be fitting nitrons, sticky tyres (hopefully) a new partial brake system junking the servo. :P

Well, i was stuck at the back of a long line of traffic - no point overtaking :( . It was wet :( And the last 5 miles is my fave bit of tarmac - pure Rutland. Open, fast roads up and down hills :) have traffic lights on it :beat: BUT... First reaction was good. Steering seemed much lighter and "airy" in a straight line (but i had just got out of a 206cc). I managed 1 quick corner on my fave bit and it just went straight round, no strange feedback. felt well planted. I might go out for a razz at lunchtime :D so i'll update later. I also said i'd call S.S. and give them my feedback (and try to get the geo setup)
