Get all of them. but if you are limited to one then this should help you choose Ranbow 6 if you like stratagy and planning before you shoot. Gears if you want all out FPS with lots of blood (is a little short though) Call of duty, dont get me wrong is fantastic but if you dont have COD 2 yet get that first (its only £20 most places now) and once you have done that do COD3 as the story in 2 is better, but Multiplayer is better in 3. My preferance was COD 3 as i love ww2 themed games but i had it a week and got gears and cod didnt get a look in. Im not a stealth kinda guy so ive done the intro mission on rainbow 6 and no further  Its one that i can pick up every now again and give a blast though. Now ive finished Gears im not likely to play it any more... COD 3 goes in every nown again as i like the challenge of doing it on vet difficulty hope that has helped rather than hindered your choice.

Vegas has a lot more longevity , GOW is a very short game. Depends how much after release support the games get with expansion packs, patches etc. COD2 is still a good game for 8 player , COD3 is similar but for some reason not as popular for multi-player within my group of friends, we play mostly Vegas at the moment.

I do have the demo for cod3 and it does look amazing, in fact I must have completed in 4 times now!! I might have to buy it. Rainbow 6 sounds good, I like that sort of game. Thanks

Not FPS at all! :beat:

I should elaborate ; it's third person - you see the character on screen and have to hide him behind things etc.

I cant comment on COD3 infact I have not lpayed any of the series. Gears of War single player was very short, 10 hours max on normal mode. Boring to complete it again on the harder modes. Quite good playing co-op with your friends either splitscreen or online. Online multiplayer is a let down. Poor ping against american servers makes it impossible to shoot, let along win. English rooms seem to hard to come across. Vegas is very good. If you like GRAW, SCDA and other rainbow series then this game will entertain you for ever. Online ranking system and rewards is really good. Im busy chasing captain (taking forever too!). You dont really have to 'plan' your mission but you do have to think about what your doing rather than shoot to thrill :) the computer intelligence is alway beating you which gives this game 'lastability'. Im not really sure you can compare the games. Vegas has the better game play but gears of war has the better graphics. My choice would be Vegas.

Its a good comparison but metal gear is more stealthy.

It seems to me that in Vagas you do have to kill everyone but in mgs you could sneak past people, i think its because you have another two people with you all the time that you cant just sneak past...

There is no comparison between them, Metal gear is more like the old Xbox game called Splintercell.. Vegas is a whole different outlay... buy it you won't be disappointed thumbsup I saw COD3 for £26 today in GAME pre-owned ofcourse -but its a great game. Im still after Balzing angels.. a must if your into WW2 planes Imnotworthy Anyone selling a second hand one
