I will admit to having seen Rob's car (with no rear badges) and thinking I'd do that to mine. I also admit to talking about it last night in the pub - a plan to remove the badges (which aren't even in the right place on mine) using solvent and wire.
However I did NOT expect to find my car this morning badge-less with damage all round the badge area.
Clearly some Corsa or Nova local boy racer wanted my big Vauxhall badge.
Along with a load of other bad sh*t I'm in a foul mood now, so no idea whether the damage is real or not, will double check tomorrow (may find the vandal twat has done me a favour by removing the badge without damaging the paint, after all. Doesn't look like it though).
Had all sorts of trouble getting the hardtop back on properly as well. I'm sure it doesn't fit properly, perhaps my car *did* have a new rear clam in the past and it doesn't line up right???

Bad luck the trouble these days is that you cannot leave anything out of sight, you have now made me think that maybe I should remove my VXR badge. I already removed the big Vauxhall badge mainly because I could not clean in between the badge and the bodywork, it was a pain to get off.

Apart from f'kin up your car the badge is probably f'ked as well by now, and they could have bought one on eBay for under £4...
Feel for you mate I really do

The thing that's annoying is that the VXT really isn't the type of car that vandals are attracted to - it's not a loud statement of wealth, it doesn't have an aggressive 'I'm better than you' image, and most of these retarded failures don't know what it is anyway.
I wouldn't expect it to be keyed, for example - I'd expect the M3 with the big wheels to get that sort of attention - and besides, it's a plastic car so who cares?
However the local boy racers DO like their Vauxhalls - mostly Corsas with the odd old-school Nova thrown in. Most are Halfords-bolt-on loud-music types, but you do get a few car enthusiasts mixed in (regardless of snobbery, anyone who does engine transplants on Novas with proper brakes etc. does get at least some respect from me).
As a result, and with the more recent Vauxhall 'VXR' advertising campaign - I can see how someone with low morals would want the big griffin badge off the 'fast Vauxhall'.
I can also see demand for the VXR badges, unfortunately ratboiler....

Hows the damage? Have you seen it?
I was getting annoyed not being able to clean inside the badge yesterday, so I might remove it now and keep it safe for the next owner in case they want it back on.
