Where you taking it?

I would expect anybody doing a geo on it would have the bolts

PS: pm me if you want my opinion on the bolts ;)

When Horizon did mine they replaced mine for me, the bolt specs are in the parts list, clicky,

Grade 10.9's are hard to get, altough I think you can get them from Lotus. Grade 12.9's on the other hand are very easy to get from most bolt suppliers.

my recipt from horizon just says 2x Hub Bolt M10x50 12.9, which IIRC will be Cap head as Hex Head are rare in 12.9. Try phoning a Louts supplier as I think they use 10.9 as standard rather than the 8.8 the VX does.

capheds it is then. found some old posts... seems like need

front

2 of m10 x 50
2 of m10 x 45
2 of m10 x 65

rear
4 of m10x50

length used depending on shims.

the parts manual does have these listed but i thought people meant hub to hub carrier bolts, when its the wishbone to hub carrier bolts

VX part no for bolts is 9197846 SCREW, SOCKET HD., M10 X 50, BALL JOINT CARRIER TO HUB When the dealer orders these they come as a pack of ten, retail price £15.69. So it looks like he has tried to cover his costs of having to order more bolts than he will sell

I recently copied this from another post: M10 10.9 Dacromet for the front: 2x M10x40 (standard 45, but if you removed a lot of camber shims, 45 would maybe not fit (holes are not completely through the hubs)) 2xM10x50 (to cut down to 45, if you want to "use" as much thread as possible, which I would recommend if you want to torque to higher values than standard). 2xM10x60 (standard 65, but again, if you removed a lot of camber shims, M65 would maybe not fit). 2xM10x70 (to cut down to 65, again if you want to "use" as much thread as possible). Rear: 4x M10x50 (will always fit, never too long as the holes are completely through the hubs 10.9s are fairly easy to source, its those with a dacromet (rustproof) finish which is desirable that are more difficult to find. thumbsup

I managed to get a set of 12.9's at a local bolt store for £2. The standard vx ones are 8.8's and worth about 10p each but vauxhall do charge £10 each for them......

And was 58nm the correct number for 10.9? (since I'll be changing them this week)

I thought I read somewhere that 12.9 were not recommended, the higher tensile bolts are more more brittle. Which should I get I am having my geo set up on 14th I will get the bolts changed at the same time. I will buy them before I go to get it set up.
