There is nothing wrong with Superchips really. Just ask Ben R on Cliosport Guy ;) They are a big successful company and i think it's easy to have a swipe at them, and sheer numbers means there is always going to be a few unhappy customers. Undoubtedly a rolling road remap is the way to go, but plenty of Superchips dealers can do custom maps.

Just unpug ur ECU and post it to TMS. They will remap it for you. Job done and no generic products. :)

id rather set fire to my car than use a "superchips" type product.. they dont really give much of a gain for the cost, and generally dont do whats needed

Aren't TMS maps supplied by Superchips  Tho I think Thorney has a lot of input fine-tuning them to better suit the car

Yes TMS are modified Superchip maps.

Not tried a VXT with a superchips product but i've got it on my NA and i think it's pretty good!

Saw the before and after graphs and was happy with drivability.

Still it would be better to listen to the opinions of someone who hasn't actually tried one tho eh  :poke:

Guy,

I don't have an issue with you....but I'm not alone in my consideration of your continual inferred opinion of maps in general.

It's got very boring now....IMO you have cut your nose off to spite your face....

Whats happened with you and your experience is now water under the bridge. If you feel the need to comment further I would suggest you do it here:-

lol wtf?? the threads about superchips. being involved with cars for a few years, superchips have never had a good reputation. from when they were proper eeprom chips that were fitted into ecus and used to just advance a bit of ignition timing etc. xx

This thread is about standard superchips map - and Guy has voiced his opinion on standard superchips maps.

This is his right and unless he's been typing in a special invisible font then he hasn't actually mentioned his recent experiences. Which is the right and mature thing to do.

(For what it's worth I'm also miles away from all the tuners so superchips was my only option without a 8 hour round trip)

I can also confirm that Lazy's car does feel quicker than mine pulling in 3rd gear. I am not really for or against superchips as I have never bought one of their products before. However, I would not send my esc to TMS through the post encase it got damaged and then your are left with a who to blame dilema. Also is there not an issue about unplugging the ecu then plugging it back in, as it can cause a power spike to kill it. Also be aware of tunner graph scales as you can make any curve look better/worse than it actually is. Just some thoughts. Wil

if you're going to get one, make sure they check the air fuel ratio with a wideband lambda sensor.

I have got a superchip remap. Whilst is not great at the moment...lots of flat spots and a power curve like the alps which makes for interesting driving when on part throttle, this was not always the case so I don't whether this is down to the map or something else.

When I first got the car it was a lot better and it was RR'd at 235bhp on two separate RR's. This was for a standard stage one cip..no other mods.

whilst I agree a generic map may not be ideal it certainly was not bad.

when i bought my vxt i was told it was superchipped... phoned the garage, dolans in grimsby who said they had chipped the car but didnt keep records that from that far back! all sounds a bit odd, but the car feels great. i wish their was any easy way of telling the difference (anyone fancy a race?) :P has anyone heard or used dolans in grimsby???
