My drivers side bonnet grill is dented so I want to replace it. Vauxhall do the grill for £40. Which is fair enough.... but how easy is it to change it? Is it a case of cutting it out with a knife... cleaning up all the left over mastic and then re-doing it with new mastic stuff which vauxhall can supply?

Yeah, it's just glued in, shouldn't be that hard to do. The glue is flexible and can be cut off. The glue Vauxhall supply comes in big tubes and I think costs around £30-40. Comes with a primer too.

The old glue, which is something like Tiger seal is a right pain in the backside to get off!

Some chav decided to use mine as 'goal' practice a few years back.... I used two pieces of wood and gentle hammering to straighten it out. Hardly noticeable now thumbsup

Do you have a part number for the grills? One of mine is also dented, as if someone has sat on it!

I would use jules's method and re shape them. Getting the old adhesive off can be done but is a PITA. Part nos are L/H 9197060 R/H 9197059

You're not wrong there mate. :( An absolute barsteward to get off, long drawn out job with a stanley knife. Also had to completely cut/destroy the old grill to get it off, and then use a pair of long nosed pliers to peel the remaining grill out of the adhesive by twisting rather like opening a tin of sardines with the key. :beat: Mind you that was a front grill not bonnet.
