The main thing that's occurred to me re the Larini v Milltek issue is noise levels, the Milltek is 95db but don't know for sure what the Larini system puts out, and as you know some tracks only allow certain db levels, but different track operators measure the sound differently, so i suppose its hard to say. Also the gains for the Turbo are supposed to be 12-18bhp and on the Na 9-11bhp on the Milltek system It was also mentioned on the Larini group buy (last 2 pages of the thread i seem to remember) , that Blue Vxr #65 had his Larini system fitted at TMS and that Quote :- QUOTE(Blue VXR # 65 @Apr 21 2007, 23:10 The results were a 29BHP increase and one hell of an increase in the sound of the car, in my opinion, this is how the car should have always sounded. QUOTE(Blue VXR # 65 @ Apr 22 2007, 22:39 ) The power gains are not as great as the are with the Miltek (only to be expected, as they have taken years to hone this exhaust) but the sound of the Larini is just something else, will post something on you tube as soon as I get time (probably next weekend now). Now i am no rocket scientist but if the Larini gives out 29bhp more than standard and the Milltek gives out say 18bhp more than standard, then surely the Larini is the system performance wise. Perhaps Nathan and some one from TMS could clarify. Perhaps the 29bhp increase on Nathans car included a stage2 map and the Larini system. Also Larini do a Full decat system ie no pre or post cat, not that bothered about the MOT issues but more concerned about Ecu /Tech 2 errors, limp mode etc etc anyone ? Jas

Hi all, I know that this is all becoming a quest for facts and figures but to be sure of what the Larini produces, a before and after run on the dyno would be needed. My bofore Larini was done on the 1st of Dec (with my service at TMS as I thought the car was down on power) and the after was done straight after it was fitted on the 20th of April, the engine itself on my car is still loosening up and therefore gaining power all the time, these figures are just a round ball park figure for myself. Also the increases that TMS quote for the Milltek are somewhat conservative (in my oppinion) so as not to give people such high expectations, all engines will produce differing power gains with the same exhaust! Hope this helps Nathan

OOOOH, I bet the customers happy JT, , the full system is just as easy to fit as the Miltek, 3 hours, so wouldn't it be justifiable to she who must be obeyed to get the full system if your thinking about it? :D

The larini wasn't so bad when i had mine fitted, took about 2-3 hours... i forgot my wheel locking nut aswell which didnt make life easier for the guys who did it! It was quite fiddley though, unlike the milltek which just seems to be an exact copy of the standard.

The full system was easier (4 hours) but the backbox only needed cutting to the brackets and all kinds of things. Total time was 7 hours  Mind you that did include us replacing the cat with a spare, the bolts are common in sheering on the OEM cats so we supplied another FOC from stock to sort it for him. Not down to the tech either, Aaaron has been the one to fit all the Larini's we've done (4) so its not a lack of experience on them.

Do you think the other Larini bits, i.e sportscat/decat will mate to the Miltek backbox OK or do i need the full Larini system?

Ive got a miltek precat& race cat with larini back box now, removing the miltek box was the hard bit, all the bolts were rusted like a 1000 year tin ship! larini didnt send me any bolts or the 2 brackets for the pips on the back box which i thought was sh!t for £550.....it is the tail pipe section that is he hard bit to get straight, mine & l14mha`s are both a bit  ..... but they do sound the nuts tho!!!
