So while I don't know what the issue is currently, I love an excuse to upgrade.

My current SC is running a normal NA F23 gearbox. I am on the lookout for something to replace what I currently have when it breaks.

I am looking to see what was available and this came up on ebay

Looking through old posts I can see the references to codes but not the XX reference above.

What is the general consensus? I don't want to go down the route of the 6 speed box, I've found the F23 to be pretty good. I already have a lightened flywheel and a clutch that has done around 20k miles so probably won't replace those. I will do the slave.

XX is 3.95 same as a n/a VX220, so don't see why it wouldn't be a problem.

What is the issue ?

Because my inner child was trying to impress my actual child, I did a couple of 'launches' with him in the passenger seat last year. This year I have had some vibration once the car is warm coming from what I think was the back end. Not rev related but wheel speed related. Thought maybe I had destroyed the cv joint but learning towards the diff bearings maybe. I also had a sticking driver side handbrake. I have changed exhausts and fixed the sticking handbrake; in the last drive couldn't feel any vibrations so hoping that it was something to do with the brake getting too hot.

Also, always looking for ways to improve the car!

The gearboxes are usually fairly robust, a few launches shouldn't post much issue. I've done quite a few on mine

See below which gives the gearbox codes and compatibility.

Only thing I recall watching out for is that some variants used a deeper bell housing to account for a DMF (dual mass flywheel), but I'm fairly sure if the alphacode is the same then its a direct match.
