Can't Get Wii To Work With My Tv?

Anyhow, my gf has a Wii and she brought it round the other day so that we could try it on my TV. But, as you may have guessed, it wouldn't work - sound was fine but no picture. Tried changing the output on the Wii from 50Hz to 60Hz but no luck and tried changing the settings on the TV from RGB to component but to no avail. Any ideas? The only thing I could think was that possibly the RGB to VGA box wasn't compatible with the Wii.
TIA

I have a Toshiba 42" plasma (basically a rebadged Panasonic), which I've had for over 2 years now. It had no inputs other than a PC monitor one installed when I bought it, so I bought a scart input for it and installed it. Wasn't happy with the quality of the scart input so after doing some research on avforums, I removed the scart input and sold it and bought one of these that used the PC monitor input instead. Well worth the money as the improvement in quality was massive - much more vibrant colours but still crystal clear.

Pretty sure you need to select RGB Scart on you Wii menu

Probably not, unless she changed it herself. Most equipment comes set up to output composite because all RGB-scart TVs will display a composite feed, but obviously the other way round doesn't work. You've run into the problem (I suspect) because your converter box only supports RGB-scart signals, not composite-scart signals (RGB -> VGA is a lot simpler than composite -> VGA).Gf's TV is about 20" CRT so I would assume it was already on RGB scart?
The number of people with huge screens who are running their Sky boxes, DVD players, consoles on composite/PAL output instead of RGB output because that's the default is mind-boggling. They spent 3 grand on the kit but they don't spend 10 minutes reading the instructions

Actually, a quick search on Google suggests that they sell a Wii RGB scart cable as an official addon. It sounds like you'll need this to enable RGB scart output, rather than simply being able to switch between composite and RGB-scart outputs in the software
