lloydyp -although I still maintain that if I'd managed to actually get a clean 1st lap, I'd be right with you

Just to set the record straight, it was "braking lines only" not "right line"TangoAlpha93 - you wanted auto gears, right line AND traction control?

I think they're pretty goodSo what are the wheels like to use then...I haven't used one since the days of Jeff Crammond's Grand Prix (1) and they were pretty cack in those days.

I have to agree 100%
I played the demo with controller, seemed great, then got a wheel (M$oft one) tried it and at first didnt like it (initial turn in was v sharp) but after some practice got used to it, got the full release of the game and played with wheel for first 8 hours, then tried the pad again and WTF!!!! it was like playing a different game, controll was awful.
The wheel really does add to the simulation experience.
I did find playing with it on my lap to be rubbish though, and once attatched to a stable surface enhanced the experience again even further.
It helps to set it at the right height, reach etc.

Would it be worth racing with damage turned off? Would avoid the late braking, kamikaze drivers trying to win the race at the first corner and only managing to punt someone off the track. At least the driver being punted off wouldn't lose out because their car is damaged.

IMO simulation damage is what makes the game all the more fun and realistic. Although very annoying when it happens but thats life
, maybe we just need to have a bit of racing ettiquete where we dont go out of our way to damage each others cars or even touch Unnecessarily.

The annoying thing on TDU online was that virtually every race i entered i was purposeley pushed off the road by others, and even with no car damage it didnt make it any better
