I know this isn't exactly motorsport related and if there was an 'off topic' room/section within the Computer and Console Games room, i'd have used it. But..does anyone/has anyone ever played Zelda? There's loads of titles, so i guess i'm asking about any of them. They may be abit juvanile for you serious gamers but i LOVED them. Such beautiful graphics, such large worlds and realms to explore, with puzzles galore and brazen baddies and their bosses to conquer, just brilliant, RPG at it's very very best Anyway...just wondering if anyone else knows 'Link' and his eternal love, 'princess Zelda'

Yep, can totally relate to what you are saying. Please try to get hold of a GameCube and a copy of Zelda: Wind Waker and you'll experience true gaming genius. Its one of my favourite games and still makes me literally gasp at its consistent quality and atmosphere. I work in the Games Industry so I kindof know a little bit about this stuff. also try the metroid series. it haunts you.

Oh fantastic Ant. I KNOW you'll get so lost in the world of Zelda, it's just great. I was not aware that here was even a Wii version but i suppose, realistically, there was bound to be (something THAT good just doesn't go away.)

There's a film coming out soon too (official release) that's a MUST on my want list.

Depending on how immersed you like to get into your RPG's, make sure you turn every stone, talk to every stranger you meet and try to open as many doors as possible along the way, there's always so so much in there that is not esentual to the game completing criteria but has months of enjoyment to offer on top (silly things like fishing in a pond to catch the largest fish, no real reward other than abit of money but fantastic realism, just waiting for that big beast to bite and ignoring the tiddlers..i returned with a diving suit and walked along the bottom getting the biggies )

Please keep me informed of how you get on, i'd LOVE to hear more of my bestest mate 'Link'

I stopped short of buying more consoles after my PS2..just got fed-up of chasing an ever expanding and expensive market but must admit that now things like the cube have been around long enough to come down aittle in price, i'm extremely tempted by your recommendation Even from the ones i'v played, i'v absolutely loved that 'consistent quality and atmosphere.'

I've also been a Zelda fan. Got into it on the Snes - Link to the past, followed by N64 then Gamecube and now Wii. My wife has done Link to the Past on the Gameboy SP, and played Minish Cap too. We are both sad They are all so well put together - certainly one of the best reasons to buy a Nintendo. Flec

I had the NES version (tho that was a few years ago now ) Loved it, can't seem to get immersed into games these days like I did with the classics, might be worth buying a gamecube/wii just to see if they've managed to capture the essence of the original

Mine's been in a box with all it's multitude of games for years now, so i'm not really sure which one it was to tell the truth. I know it needed to be used with an expansion pack though

My thoughts exactly. There are a few others too that were similarly massive and worth spending hours finding all the excellent mini games locked away inside

If you can save up, then get a WII instead of a gamecube. You can then use gamecube games on it (it has gamecube controller sockets) and download selected older content too. Of course, it is still £150 more than a second hand gamecube, so thats not really great value if all you want is Wind Waker or Mario Kart. Flec

Gosh...at that price it would be silly not to. Is that a secure site to pass my credit card details to? I'v got to contact the bank tomorrow to get them to stop this card and issue me with another, as i gave my card details online for a good priced Tom-Tom one (new version) and have never heard back from them in months now. No money has been taken but i'm just such a worrier. I'v been told by a friend, to always look for the secure 'padlock' sign but i don't seem to be able to see it on the site you posted a link to Have you any experience of trading with 'Games Station'?

Looks/sounds like too much hard work for me ..I don't mind sitting on my skinny behind and twiddling my thumbs on a control pad but jumping around and getiing tennis elbow or 'link' sward arm ect, is alittle too realistic for me

They're a pretty big chain, so I should think you'll be ok - if you use a credit card you are protected anyhoo
They also have stores dotted around, so may be worth looking - there's one in Wolverhampton by me, so bound to be one in Brum somewhere
The padlock sign will appear in the bottom right corner of the page, to signify that you have been transfered to a 'secure' site - but that will only appear when you are on (or approaching) the actual page where you fill in your card details.


On a similar note - my other half fell for one of those "official paypal" emails a couple of days ago, and ended up giving them all her bank details along with her pin number (she can be a little dippy ) Thankfully, she mentioned it in passing, and meant ages trying to get the accounts and cards cancelled, and now she has to wait five days for them to re-activate them

That's what worries me cuz i'm 'dippy' at the best of times and without thinking (brain on autopilot) i'd do the same, although having said that, i'm fiercely (perhaps overly) protective of my personal details. I hope she gets is sorted soon (or at least, with only a couple more days to go) I might search for them and see where their nearest store is then, probably in Reddich somewhere i'd guess. Wow....gooood man I'll call them first thing. Funny how i have work and home worries and stresses coming out of my ears at the moment, to the point where i'm quite seriously (not wishing to over dramatise it) a heart attack waiting to happen but i'm already thinking of how i can fit calling into Reddich around things. There is an ex-office suppliers in Batchley that i was talking to on the telephone today, who has 100 or so 'quite decent' heavy duty carpet tiles going for a song, so i guess i can kill the two birds with one stone (as you say though 'supply allowing') Thank-You dearly for taking the trouble of finding that for me. There's a pie and pint in the post for you Ps. I'll let you know how i get on
