I did the Javelin day at Cadwell on Sat. It was wet, and not the full circuit, but I had a brilliant time nonetheless. I can recommend Javelin - I have done 3 days at Elvington (near York) with them also. Elvington is great for popping your cherry as nothing to hit - if you get it wrong you just spin. Cadwell was a bit different! I was slow as f**k at first but got better as day wore on. I was quicker than a Lancer evo III on a damp track at the end in my n/a so well chuffed. Also gave me opp. to try out my new harness (see sep. post) which was excellent, pinning me to the seat and making it easier to feel the car underneath me. You really feel a part of it. Recommended. This was also the first run out on my new track tyres & rims. I took Ricky's advice and went for oz superleggeras, 16 fronts and 17 rears with A048 Yokos - 195 fronts, 225 rears. Difficult to give definitive comparison on wet/damp track but they seemed to work well, with less understeer. I obviously kept away from standing water....The wheels look uglier than standard IMO but I didnt buy them to look pretty... Anyway if you are reading this Ricky thanks a lot mate for the tip. If anyone wants similar wheels I got mine from Ronnie Cowan in Scotland (he is on the net), and he now knows what fits. "wobbly bolts" are needed but these are TUV approved. Tires came from Simon at Brooke Kensington as he was cheapest. He also name-checked Thorney, bless him!

You're a brave man doing Cadwell in the wet on A048Rs! I presumed the Yokohamas were dry track only, but they must be pretty impressive to handle Saturdays weather conditions. I did the full circuit on a dry day in August and had a great time. What a fantastic track. Deffo be back there next year.
