Flamys post has prompted me to wonder how some or the more unusual user names came about. My username is ridiculous really - I registered this name as XXX is part of my registration number but wish I had used my real name as XXX is pretty crap really... Anyhoos, how did you all come up with your usernames? flamy you can start......

Mine is my login name from an old job, it's the first 6 letters of my surname, winsta, and the inital of my first name, R, giving WinstaR.

When created first online id in the 90s wanted Gizzo (after Galaxy Radio character.) but it'd been taken. So picked Ozzig with intent to change when I thought up a cool name - never did and it's just kind of stuck.

Depending on the maturity level of the board, I may regret letting you in on this... About 5 years ago, I bought a T-shirt that has the letters - SAPD - emblazoned across the front. I didn't really give a second thought as to what the acronym could stand for, I just bought it as I liked the colour and it was cheap (I was an impoverished student at the time). Anyway, I wore it to the pub the next evening - or, more likely back then, the next afternoon - and my friends all found it hilarious to sit and work out what SAPD could mean. It started off with banal suggestions such as "San Andreas Police Department" but soon moved onto more personal offerings. I liked "Slick And Potentially Dangerous". "Smooth and Perfect Daniel" was equally acceptable. It was only when they got onto things like "Small And Puny Dick" that my fondness for the game began to wane. Several hours later, the name that had stuck (and, infuriatingly, still sticks to this day) was "Sad And Pathetic Daniel"... Cheers guys  Anyway, sadandpatheticdaniel@ is the email address my uni mates now use to keep in touch with me. And SAPD is my alias on most online forums etc.

Mines pretty dull. I had a Pulsar back when I made up the user name, and used it for a few things and kinda stuck with it as its generally available if I need to register for something new.

CleanCutYoungMan - cause I had a shave today, I'm a guy and I'm still the right side of 30. Give it a few years and I'll change it to CarewornBeardedOldBoy. It's not as punchy but will probably be true!
