they have mixed opinions on here, some have problems, some dont 2 years warranty too - didnt realise that tbh its not bad for 500 quid for 2 years

In my (biased) opinion, i've had them for 18 months with no problems, and was on a trackday only yesterday where they behaved impecably and much much better than OEM. For 500 notes they represent good value thumbsup

mine have been on for over a year, including all winter due to my shed breaking, and other than a few rust spots then no probs at all, altough the hight adjustment threads look abit scummy but I got mine set up at -25F/-15R and I have no intension of changing it.

I'm still trying to convice GAZ shocks to make up a VX set - the dampers for the S2 Elsie should be fine, but may need uprated springs The adjustable ones on ebay sell for £300-£350 so quite a saving, and they look good quality Maybe another email to them will make them consider it further :poke: :)

I would like lower than 25mm. I think Sachs are the next cheapest option then your on to Nitron and bigger money. Correct me if im wrong please as Im thinking of the Sachs ones from Horizon.

I recently went out for a spin in MikeF's car and all I can say is, Nitrons are worth every penny thumbsup Saving up for a set now.

It may have been the set up or just the NA vs tubby, but I felt my NA with SPAX was sharper than the VXT I tried them on back to back.

Really  - Oh well, here's the latest reply

Hi
I am sorry we can not help you with this
regards
David

So I guess it doesn't matter - you'd think for the sake of them finding out a few spring rates they'd at least try

I tried to get GAZ to make a set up but they werent interested. Even when I offered to take 5 car sets off them to kinda "justify" the effort of changing springs off S2 elise ones lol Sachs are a PITA as no supplier wanted to cash no vat deal them so the £650 + vat price puts them near nitrons (ish) Avo were the same as GAZ, but then Avo are in the same league of reliability as gaz/spax... although with a spax 2 year warranty they might be fine lol

Consider this: In two years time a set of Nitrons will be worth at least 75% of their purchase price In two years time your SPAX will be worth....... ZERO! A set of Nitrons are a high quality piece of kit and are unlikely to give you trouble A set of SPAX is a dodgy item at best and stories abound of their failings and unreliability. Haven't tried both so can't comment on relative performance, except that Nitrons are just... better :P Nitrons for me every time (except I just sold mine).

heh the way the cars are going - will there be any left to fit nitrons to in 2 years time :P just nitrons are a vast initial outlay, we all know they are good, just expensive initially, we all want a good budget alternative, thats on par if not better than OEM equipment, i'd put the spax up there with OEM reliability

I was going to go for the Nitrons because Guy Evans has ripped me off with the NSX, but besides that there is the fact if you don't use the VX for track all the time you might get a tad pissed with the ride. I'm going to get the Sachs fitted when i get the car serviced soon so i'll give a review when it done as Sachs owners seem thin on the ground so far. .
