Saw this advertised on tv.

Link to web site here http://www.race-game.org/

Is it likely to be any good and anyone know if it will be available on any other platforms?

i wouldnt bother. GTR was good, very hard, but good, people complained and when they made GT Legends, it was ok but didnt feel like it was right, then GTR2, then RACE, now this.. its just a waste of a good modding team.. if you are really into racing games i suggest you pop over to www.liveforspeed.net its very realistic, (even has tyreflex.. ) and its cheap and runs very well on low powered machines.. the only downside is that the graphics are not on the same level as GTR 2 or Race 07, but it depends what you want, physics or graphics.

are you on about the LFS demo??

you know its not finished yet, the way its being made is

Stage 1 - Content and Basic software
Stage 2 - fully working physics modeling and ai
Stage 3 - full update on graphics to latest

at the mo its on pre stage 2 just about finished. costs just £24 to get the latest version with all the tracks and cars.

just some things you can do

Wow - the more you learn about LFS the more you find out you don't know?! I'm hooked but am struggling to get out of noob mode. I've just downloaded some bsaic set ups that hopefully will help. Generally i'm 5 seconds a lap slower than the quickest guys online but as i'm consistent i'm finishing mid table. This is actually very frustrating. I'm using a saitek pad. Any tips. And how far can you go using a pad? thanks off to race...... rallly

erm, what car are you using?

ther eis alot of stuff in LFS,

CTRL+L gives you live geometry (i think its L, i cant check)
F9 gives you a live tyre wear and heat readout
F10 gives you suspension damage readout

as for the pad, i would try get a G25 or something similar soon as possible. coz you are very limited in the digital keys, you really need to be as smooth as possible

also if you jump onto www.lfsworld.net and put in your name and password you can see allsorts of info.

Chris, Ok i'm using the Fox single seaters. Started out with lap times 1:18, then 1:15, then someone showed me the lines one night and I managed to get down to 1:12. Since then somebody gave me a set to try and with some personalising (it was too twitchy - maybe would suit the G25?) i've got my times down to a consistent 1:11 and then I broke into the 1:10's for the first time tonite. I think the track is Blackwood? or Aston? - it's used all the time for the Fox cars. Question is if i get the wheel will my lap times improve further as the guys i'm racing are consistently getting 1:8 or 1:9 and only occasionally dropping into 1:10's. Now i'm having fun - for some reason my starts are excellent and because i'm concistent i'm able to fend them off and get 3rd/4th place finishes (out of say 14) but, if i drop behind i'm too slow to catch up. Thanks for the tips i'll try the live readings and see what's happening with my tyres etc? what a game thumbsup thumbsup

i was writing a reply when IE crashed on me! GRR!

what i was saying was if you add me to xfire which you can get >>> here <<<, i will race online with you and i can see what your not doing. :)

there are lots of track variations of blackwood / aston so i cant tell which track it was you was racing on.

but if you havent already go >> here <<< to get all the world record setups for a particular car and track combo.

now its alot easier with the wheel i must admit but some of the world records were done using mouse and keyboard and sometimes even keyboard.

if your using a pad i would assume your not getting a clean anough corner because tapping left and right will fcuk your tyres coz your not putting a smooth amount or force on them meaning the wear no the tyres will be wrong causing you to loose grip on certain parts of the track.

if you want abit of a laugh go watch these

Race1

then just watch the others going all the way to round 10.

also, just add me to msn 'chris_is_here@hotmail.com'
