Sorry if its a repost:

Was this anyone on here? Apparently the driver was Ok once cut out of the wreckage....

Mate of mine (non-Lotus owner) who was coming back from holiday on the Norfolk broads took the photo.

Proof again that these little cars are very tough

Really minor damage though...I'd guess it was shunted into the car in front.

There is also a tree lying down in the background

Probably not seen that many Lotuses all in one go before.

I've admitted blame, no point denying anything here. Traffic was moving at a fairly slow pace (I honestly couldn't say how much, but I'd guess around 30 - 40ish) when all of a sudden everything stopped. I braked hard but obviously saw it all too late and smashed into the back of the audi. There was a bloody big bang and the next thing I know there's an A8 on top of me.

:(

The car was a complete mess, but amazingly one of the fire crew managed to start it drive it up onto the verge.

:D

im sorry but

For what it's worth I would like to say that I wasn't driving quickly or beyond my limits. I just didn't see everyone braking soon enough.

if you cant see someone braking soon enough then thats beyond your limits as a driver ie too close at too high a speed.

im not saying im infalible but I would like to think the times im "enjoying" myself are when im away from most cars and on a fairly empty road.

all said im glad he got out alive obviously!

I find it hard to believe that an Elise would go under a car the wieght of the Audi and lift it up :o

I thought about this too, and imagine the A8 is a softly sprung car and assuming it was braking very heavily too, the nose would be down and the rear already unweighted when impact took place.

now if you were a physics teacher :D Its a wedge basically, the rear of the audi was probably high due to braking, the elise front low because of braking, hey presto.
