Made the trip down to Basildon yesterday to get the shocks fitted,

Really great bunch of guys down there - had a full tour of their facilities (very impressive) - they make almost all components for their shocks themselves in their machine shop - not many companies like that left in the UK!

Here's a piccy of one of the rear shocks:

And just for comparison, a few shots of the VX220 shock sat next to an Elise s2 one - the Elise body is much longer (the VX shock is the one with black anodised spring seats)

It's great - I'd say it was better than before comfort wise - tho the shocks I took off were 6 years old (but they'll look like new with a good clean-up) Did 200 miles home but all motorway, did manage to get 15 mins playtime in Waitrose car park and the cornering seemed much more precise. I'll have to have a good play with it yet tho - and try adjusting the rebound settings on each corner. Lowered by around 25mm at the front and around 15mm at the rear so looks much nicer too! :)

I'm not sure which springs Meagy has gone for?

I will still have to do the full B road assessment, but first impressions are very good

I have 300lb 8" length on the front, and 375lb 8" length on the rear, so not far above standard settings - but I can now adjust the rebound too :)

If I start using the car for track work I'll just order a higher laod set thumbsup

The guy mentioned something about sending an 11" set of springs out for meagy ( )

With all due respect to Meagy, he fitted them himself. Gaz fitted the kit for Mandarin. Suspension is only as good as the guys setting them up.

Yeah, they did kind of hint that they need to be set up by someone in-the-know thumbsup

I'm not sure what the retail price will be for a set, but I'd imagine around £400-£450  , and they have the two year warranty too.

Only have one dodgy pic which I took while it was going dark - I've had to tweak the levels a lot in lightroom to even get the wheels to show so it looks a bit odd!

They have a least one set ready to go (shown in the Elise comparison pics) so give them a ring :)

If you want the number of the guy I dealt with, send me a PM thumbsup

Mandrian is that the elise shocks for a Kseries car? The toyota cars have the vx subframe so suspension should be interchangeable

You'd have to ask him to be honest - the reason he showed me the difference was because I kept houding him by email saying that he could use the S2 shocks for the VX and just change the springs, with him obviously saying it wasn't as easy as that - so he thought he'd show me why :)

I'll try and get a few pics of the car tomorrow thumbsup
