Any one had any similar problems I was driving back home just turned a 90 degree left corner and went to put my foot down then nothing I looked down and noted that the lcd display was blank. I turned her off and on but still no display. After a few mins I checked the fuses and noticed number 7 ignition services was blown I checked the others all OK . Replaced it and it started drove 800 m and turned right at a roundabout then again it went. Question any one else had this? I got towed back as I wanted to get it sorted back home. ( another 10 amp started the car again) I had the ABS turned off ( switch under the hood) all the time and am wondering if it has something to do with the steering wheel and a dead short? I posted this to get some feed back while I strip the steering apart to check the wires. Typical at Bedford tomorrow.

Oh sh!t, sorry to hear that Nick. Can't offer you any meaningful advice but fingers crossed you find the little blighter in time for tomorrow. Even if you don't find it tonight, bring the car up tomorrow and we can go over it in daylight and that mechanic guy who always comes to the L-o-T days will hopefully be there with his van and knowledge/experience.

think you're talking about Wayne from sinclaires. don't know if he's got some sort of retainer with LoT. Nick really hope you get it sorted. couldn't be anything to do with the indicators could it, if they were on when you were turning

Have you tried..... SETTING FIRE TO THE BASTARD COS WHEN IM LATE FOR WORK AND I HAVE TO DE-ICE THE COONT AND THEN FIND THE INSIDE ICED I WANT TO.. Nah but it must be a wire loose but sounds like a clam off job next to the left wing to me... Take it to the track day cos someone will have a garage there and the tools to let u have a look and find it. Hopefully its not melted wire but just a loose joint cos melted is a bastard to replace.

Thanks guys see you soon. I spent a few hours going all over it I had it running and then went around pulling all the wires I could find hoping( strange thing to say) it would stop, but no, anyway after a long time I decided to take it for a drive with my mate parked close by, just in case. I couldn't reproduce the fault I am pretty certain its a ground short some where in the loom, maybe under the steering wheel, and all that tugging moved it away from the source of earth? I am taking the dash out next week as I am off work on hols so will give it a good look over. I find the wiring diagram for this car on TIS as not very helpful.
