Suprise suprise, vauxhall have given me the wrong coolant tank! The tank is identical, apart from the fact that it doesnt have a hole in the bottom for the sensor. Why doesnt it have this hole!!?? Any vx's that have the coolant sensor elsewere?? I only realised this after the brackets from the knackered coolant tank CRUMBLED when i took it off, the origional tank really is in a bad way! I darent touch it again in case it leaks! Now held on with gaffer tape.... thumbsdown

Only one header tank listed for each model

Does the part number on yours tie up to these

The part number for the coolant tank matches the one it should be, but the bottom of the tank has no plug or even a marked area for cut out, its just smooth! 50 mile round trip to bring it back to vauxhall  aswell!

There isn't a hole into the tank as such, just a little protrusion in the plastic that the nib of the sensor fits into - the protrusion can be seen in the top picture of this thread thumbsup

I'm sure the tubby and na tanks are different. When I took my VXT to Horizon they had an expansion tank but it was for the na and wouldn't fit...

I'm almost positive that the N/A dosn't have a sensor in the expansion tank. The turbo certainly does though.

Both of the tanks have level sensors, but I believe the tubby has an extra take off pipe Providing the part no. matches the correspoding no. in the link above it should be fine

Cant see the pic in the link yet as am at work and images won't load up!

There is nothing on the bottom of the new tank i bought, no protusions, indentations, holes, or orifices! Completely sealed! Vauxhall have ordered me a new one so will see what this is like when it comes!

I asked about this on the z22se forum and someone posted the following: "the expansion tank is actually from an astra 1.6 so they have supplied you with a LS model instead of a CDX model version it's basically the same but without the coolant level sensor fitting"
