superchips or regal? i think anyone who wants to improve the car for little cost should consider having the ecu remapped.....generally the car is given a massive increase in power in the midrange( this can be upto 20bhp/18LBft) and just a little at the top end ( +5-7bhp/+5lbft) it will make car feel so fast between 3000-5000 rpm!! ( it can be alarming at first) for me the superchips software did not go far enough!! i wanted more!! regal said that could do better thru their tuning company! i was interested.....my car has been the tester!! their software is at version 7 at present!! paul h has that software!!mine is still on ver 5 until i get my ecu changed!! from what i heard ver 8 is in the pipe line and this will be geared to full exploit the regal full upgrade kit( stages 1-4) key features of this software is 1. rev limit extended to 6800 2. a very flat torque curve from 2000-6000 3. max bhp at around 6500 rpm 4. a very free revving engine 5. a good overall mpg after all this one happy driver!!!

I've been doing a bit of tinkering recently, pre-cat, K&N and i have the Vaux Sports Ex, now i want the ECU tune. i have looked at the regal site, they offer stage 1 for 300 ish. Is this what you would recommed? What other options are there? I can't yet afford the inlet manifold, I've been to superchips before (Mi-16 Pug) car felt good, but not what i had hoped for. You mention stage 7/8 is this all out manifolds, exhausts, etc.?.. Cheers, Mike.
