Hi,
I need to pick up an RPM signal from the dash area for my TC.
Anyone know which colour wire is the RPM signal on the instument cluster for the rev counter or on the diagnostic plug?

Had a look at the speedsterclub diagrams, they show three wires gong to the instuments 'white/blk' or 'green/blue' or 'brown/blue', but not much info on what they do

Pin A4 on the dash unit carries the rpm signal.

See: http://www.speedster...m/Instument.pdf

Bye, Arno.

Goddamn, what a great forum for getting quick answers, cheers chinky chinky Its not a shift light (pretty sure I have one of those standard) I'm fitting traction control to compensate for my careless, inconsiderate and generally dangerous driving.

The one from the dash doesn't give a clean signal (I have tc fitted also), and racelogic advised me to try and take it from the engine loom for a faster response time.. but I've not done this yet so i'm not sure if it will actually be any better than the one from the dash.

Hi Rik, Thanks for your original guide its been helpful, particularly the wiring codes for the ABS (even without pictures!) as the Racelogic wiring diagram is poor at best.

Just finished fitting the TC, did basic setup on the digital adjuster and took it a quick run, the cuts did seem quite harsh and my engine warning light came on and I limped home on three pistons.

Hopefully just a blip, I'll look at it again tomorrow.

I put a couple of spare wires in from the engine to the front of the car, so could easily attach one to the engine loom RPM, though I'm not sure it would be any cleaner in an unscreened cable.

What should the engine cuts feel like?
