I'm setting my scan guage to tell how many miles I can drive until I run out of fuel. I need to tell the guage my fuel tank capacity. I originally set it to 32 litres but I'm unsure if this is correct. I've searched the forum and have seen varying figures ranging from 32lt, 33lt, 35lt, 36lt and 37lt. So please don't torch me! I have a standard VX220NA. Can anyone tell me the definitive tank capacity please. chinky chinky

VXT fuel tank calculates at 38.66 lts. This doesn't account for any extra volume gained within the fuel filler hose or any volume lost by the fuel pump assembly, but to be honest these variations are fairly minor.

The only thing i can't confirm for sure is if the Turbo fuel tank is the same as an N/A, we haven't had an N/A tank out yet. I would be suprized if they are different though. Maybe someone else has this info?

Hope this helps thumbsup

Alex

Thanks for the replies, but they illustrate why I'm unsure. 38ltr is a new record, 35lt is a fairly common understanding but not as common as 32ltr. I think sometimes you guys know more about the cars than is published. So I was hoping for some expert answers. As our tanks are so small I generally run mine down until it reads 5ltr before filling up. If I'm on unfamiliar roads it would be nice if the scan guage could tell me exactly how far I could go to find a petrol station. An accuracy of a 5 mile reading on the guage could make a difference. Anyone have a definitive answer for a NA? Sol

I thought NA was 36/37 and the tubby was 32 as its smaller. Make sure you use the fill up procedure on the scan guage a few times it makes it a lot more accurate :)

Thanks Steve, Imnotworthy 36 ltr was what I was expecting/hoping for as it matches the fuel remaing on my Stack guage with the distance to empty on my scan guage best. Do you have any evidence or knowledge that confirms this as the exact capacity? Sorry for the questions, it's just that there are so many differing opinions I'd like to seperate fact from rumour. Thanks everone for your help. chinky chinky Sol

I've never ran out of petrol, but have driven for about 40 miles on refill looking for a garage. Filled up with about 35.5 litre.....

38.66 lts is the actual calculated volume based on the inside dimensions of a standard VXT tank. The manufactures quoted volumes are generally slightly less than actual capacities because you will never get all the fuel out, so they usually quote safe figures.
