After reading about how intrusive the ABS is when using the VX on the track I decided to unplug the nearside front sensor before my track day a few weeks ago. The ABS light duly came on when I unplugged the sensor, but having plugged it back in the ABS light hasn't gone out. Is there a specific method to resetting the light? Removing a fuse for example? Any help much appreciated. :)

Did you unplug it with the engine running? Coz that can be bad.

what problems would it cause with the engine running?? unplugging a sensor is just the same as the sensor failing so it shouldnt cause any serious problems

Maybe you've dislodged one of the wires I have a bit of a dodgy wire on my osf, but the light always resets itself

Worthwhile changing fuse 22, even if it doesn't look like its blown. The blades on mine had corroded so although the fuse looked alright, no current was getting through. That said, my speedo wasn't working either, so wonder if your problem may be more related to the abs itself.

When I had a faulty ABS sensor usually just turning the engine off and re starting was sufficient to re set. It would come on after hitting a hard bump (front nearside sensor). If the fault light still shows then there may still be a fault. What I did was remove the hollow pins from the sensor plug, clean and then carefully bend the thin leaf springs into the pin grove to ensure good contact. thumbsup

I can confirm the ABS light will reset itself after the engine has been switched off. If there is still a problem then it will still stay on. It could be the wire has been damaged in the loom somewhere. I had this problem and only fixed it today. Good luck. Wil

Thanks for the responses guys. I'll give the wire a wiggle and check the connections. thumbsup

Noticed this a few times now, and its really annoying because you start thinking there is a wiring fault when there isn't : An abs light that comes on when you disconnect the plug at the hub does not go out straight away when you plug it back in. In fact I had to do 3 ignition starts (3 different journeys) to get the light to go out. And the light only went out as I set off on the 3rd journey.
